i can’t say thank you enough to my dearest friends and the unconditional love and support from family,, i truly wouldn’t have survived these past 4 years without yous. i’ve learned that what matters isn’t how long you’ve known someone, but the quality of time spent together.

the past few months were a definite challenge academically and also personally. but through gritted teeth and a lot of late nights wondering is this the right path for me, we finally made it !!

when i look around the sports hall, an ocean of teal and blue, i realise that at the end of the day, we’re all someone’s little baby. and no matter how old we grow, that young, scared student with no idea of what comes next will always be with us. that’s how we’re reminded that everything is okay.

i never really smile with my teeth because it’s something i’m self-conscious of, but graduating somehow made all that doubt disappear. you can’t control something that’s simply just natural, and frankly you don’t really care how you look in those happy moments shared with loved ones. and just like that, life goes on. by @pyfzjs

hk pt 2 — star ferry, central & mong kok!

whatever comes our way will teach us a lesson, about the people around us and most importantly about ourselves. i’ll make friends with strays no matter what, sometimes you just need someone to be there for you, quietly understanding and expressing love through doing.

i won’t say i miss hk because i’m sure we’ll be back sometime in the near future. the on and off rain felt like dublin, the similarities are uncanny. maybe because we’ve almost reached quarter life crisis and everything suddenly feels more precious. maybe watering your own needs does make a huge difference, rather than worrying about others’ gardens.

i’ll see you again soon dollar store kitty! my seal son had a great time riding the bus, he got to see the water! also thank you marco and christie for having us!!! it was so lovely to finally meet you guys — we’ll go for hotpot next time >,< by @pyfzjs

hk pt.1 !! — landed in hk and cramps were debilitating the first two days but we persevered and managed to explore some local spots. amongst the summer humidity and showers we joined the morning commute and trusted in the unknown.

the city was alive, humming with bustling feet, the bluntness in one’s tone—effective—straight to the point, learning how to wash your dimsum utensils and dishes, and the tram doors are closing! please mind the gap. by @pyfzjs

— korea pt. 4 창원 + 부산!!

so good to see past roommates and have a meal together! we took every form of transport this trip, from the high speed train to the local bus lol

thanks again for my amazing friends who helped with the delivery service to send our film camera to the hotel after realising we forgot it once we were on the way to busan…

happy wedding day to my old friend lee and his radiant wife sujin!! so impossibly happy for these two, i couldn’t stop crying throughout the ceremony despite it being in korean. thank you for having us!

and thank you 정연언니 + 수진언니 for your kind hospitality and letting these two kids stay with you guys! it was so great being able to cook for you and to all eat together :> thanks for helping us with transport at 1am haha

— korea pt 2. 전주 + 완주 !!

from gorgeous temples to lakeside coffee shop galleries, thank you to our kind hosts 정연언니 + 수진언니 for showing us around :>

we met the sweetest stray cats who were suspiciously overweight >< the gallery owner had two huge teddy bears minding the doors, the fluffiest security guards!

the matcha spanner was so sexy, but highlight of the day was definitely my massive tofu for lunch lol by @pyfzjs

— korea pt 1. 서울 + 청주 !!

from dublin to beijing to hong kong to seoul, and after over 30+ hours of travelling… finally we arrive in incheon!!

before even setting foot in korea, we were met with so many challenges, from security checks to luggage getting lost… despite all the tribulations, the next four days ended up being the biggest adventure yet!

i feel immense gratitude for the support of my awesome friends! thank you 이정민 + 수진언니 for taking good care of us in cheongju, and for bringing us all the way to wanju! running around the city on vibes (and my terrible konglish skills) alone proved to be worthwhile <3

we turned 2! happy anniversary my love <3 you were always there supporting me at my exhibitions, poetry readings, helped with our family food stalls, and took care of me when my health gave up on me. (thanks for all your labour)

but you never gave up. i admit we do have our ugly moments but we come back home to each other no matter how bad it gets. i’m glad to have found someone with whom i can literally grow together in every season of life.

i swear it was only yesterday you approached me on the badminton court asking if i wanted to play doubles… call me a sap but i’m so glad you did!!! and to many more :>

laya & gareth’s big day! words can’t describe the joy i feel for you both… maid of honour duties were definitely a challenge but it was all worth it being there for you and showing up for you in even the smallest ways <3

the month of love! sisterly love, platonic and romantic, familial and self-love (still working on it), but also heartache. a month that has changed the way i feel emotion. thank you for challenging me and helping me become more comfortable with change and growth no matter how painful or daunting it can be at the time.

a new beginning is in place now, with a heart slowly learning to forgive and to move past what was, to move towards what’s to follow, all whilst reminding each other to be kind, especially to ourselves. <3 i love you!

wood snake! a quiet year with undoubtedly valuable lessons of everyday life. from hospitalisation to financial breaking points to overcoming the darkest of one’s thoughts.

tonight, for me there are no fireworks, no company, no grapes, and no new year kiss. a simple act of grace, remembering the pain without dwelling too deep. i accept what was and wish to forget old habits.

happy year of the horse! i only hope to start afresh with intention, discipline, and most importantly love for myself. by @pyfzjs

23! a week full of joyous laughter, delicious dinners, and the love of those closest to my heart. in this new chapter i only wish to become a better friend, daughter, big sister, girlfriend, and colleague. i wish to celebrate my loved ones as deserved! my network, my village, my family. thank you for making this one so special and harmonious, i wouldn’t be here without your support.
