As we say goodbye to Nadheem Singh’s (@pyjama_cake) commission humble stones at Platfform 2, we’re delighted to share a digital publication featuring poems, drawings and photographs from Nadheem’s research process alongside a text from artist and writer Samandal Sidig.

Nadheem Singh’s commission, humble stones, is now on view at Platfform 2, Y Fenni Station and continues until early December 2025.

humble stones features two poems interwoven with hand-drawn elements from the artist’s sketchbooks. The work explores the convergence and divergence of natural, geologic, political and national borders – and questions who is excluded, and what is extracted, across these thresholds.

Nadheem Singh @pyjama_cake is an Indian poet, artist, and facilitator based in Cardiff. Read more about humble stones on the Peak website.

Celebrate South Asian theatre-making in Wales with @jhoomtheatreco this summer during South Asian Heritage Month! @southasianheritagemonth_uk

Following on from their successful sold out show last year Scene/Change is back. The first programme of its kind that celebrates Welsh and Wales based theatre-makers of South Asian heritage.

Four South Asian writers will each produce an original 15-minute script; they are Kia Shah, Priya Hall, Nadheem and Durre Shahwar. You will get to see these exciting new plays receive their first rehearsed reading at the Sherman, with a cast and creative team from the same community.

The past two weeks I’ve been lucky enough to spend time in Porter’s new space with a few lovely folks supported by @nationaltheatrewales as one of their The Cost Of Living Resident Artists. NTW awarded the Residency Artists some funding - which I then used to pilot a residency idea of my own.

The residency brought creatives together in a space with no expectation of an end product. The “In The Margins” residency aimed to provide creatives with time to exist, to be able to develop their practice, and create (network and co-work) with other artists. Folks could co-create work, or simply work on their own practice - the choice was theirs!

It’s been so lush to work with @a_imx_n, @alia_aila_milan and @pyjama_cake - and to witness their creativity and spending some time together. Thank you for coming along for the ride!

@porterscardiff donated the space in kind - and welcomed us completely into their space for three days - which was so valuable as a bunch of creatives with diverse mediums - we could use the upstairs rehearsal space, write or draw in their beautiful skylit mural space, and explore the gig space.

Porter’s has been a Cardiff institution for years - but needs your help to continue. And they’ve got some stunning stuff lined up if they can make it through the summer. The new space has so much potential - it would truly be such a blow to the Cardiff arts scene if we lost it.
