Hi! My name is Q. I’m a Broadway performer and voice teacher from South Korea. I’ve been teaching for almost 15 years now, but somehow I’ve never really taken the time to properly introduce my studio. 😅

Now that Q Lim Studio has grown into a full team of voice and acting teachers, I thought it was finally time. 💗

When I first started pursuing musical theatre, none of it came naturally to me. I struggled with singing, acting, and even speaking English. I was told numerous times that I didn’t have the talent to become a performer.

But I loved it, so I kept going.

The teachers who believed in me and gave me the tools to grow completely changed my life. That experience shaped the kind of teacher I wanted to become—and the kind of studio I wanted to build.

Today, Q Lim Studio is a team of professional teachers and coaches offering 1:1 online training in Voice, Acting, and College Audition Prep to students around the world.

Whether you’re pursuing a professional career, preparing for an audition, or simply want to sing or act because you love it, you’re welcome here.

You don’t have to be good at it already. You just have to want to learn. 💗

8years ago at AMDA showcase 😦 singing “Part of Your World” as a manikin not as a 🧜‍♀️
Started singing when I was 20 (when I moved to America) never thought I was going to be a singer..! I thought I was going to be a dancer.. when I tried to take a voice lesson in Korea they told me it was too late for me to start and I was not good enough to take lessons from this teacher.. still quite can’t believe I am doing a show as a singer. forever grateful for my friends and teachers from my school years who believed in me and encouraged me that I can do this. Still have a long way to go

This is the Disney audition that changed my life.
I was too shy to share this video before. This audition got me my visa and a dream job.
I became the first Korean actress hired by Disney Cruise Line.
Even when I thought it was over… Disney said YES.
You don’t have to be perfect.
Someone out there is waiting to believe in you.

We’ve got eight teachers at EKM Vocal Studio, and we want you to get to know us better! Today is all about Q Lim 🥰
.
Q is a certified voice teacher and Broadway performer who has been with EKM since 2023, teaching private voice lessons to singers worldwide. She has space in her private studio, and you can book with her NOW via our website! 👏🏻
.
As she puts it, Q moved from South Korea to NYC “with no singing, acting, or English language skills.” Fast forward just a few years of intense study and training, and she became the first Korean actress to play a principle role on Broadway in 15 years, with a debut opposite Kellie O’Hara in the Broadway revival of The King And I. Pretty incredible, right??
.
Q knows more than anyone what hard work and dedication to your craft can get you. She’s a teacher who is SO full of heart, and cheerleads all of her students while giving them fool-proof tools to achieve the singing voices of their dreams. She works with a wide variety of singers, from seasoned Broadway and music industry professionals, to those who are just starting to find their sound. She also specializes in working with children, autistic singers, and with international singers/ English-as-a-second-language singers who are looking to master American diction with clarity.
.
Follow her at @q_lim on Instagram, and book a lesson via EKM Studio’s website!

Proud vocal coach moment. 🥹

Singing softly takes control, consistency, and beautiful tone quality. What I loved most was hearing each singer’s unique voice and color shine through while making the song their own.

@arianagrande What do you think? ✨

2016 was a year of immense growth.
From getting to work with so many brilliant artists,
to closing on Broadway,
to touring an epic show with my husband.

Forever grateful for this experience.
A girl from Korea, shaped by countless rejections, never imagined this life.
What a year..
