NEW Artist Lecture and Workshops open for registration!

🌲Friday, Oct 16th - Colleen Wise @colleen.wise Artist Lecture at the La Conner Civic Garden Club from 1-2pm. Join us after at the QFA Museum for an Artist Reception, free admission and refreshments from 2-close!

🪡Saturday, Nov 7th - Melissa Galbraith @mcreativej will teach a Wildflower Embroidery workshop at the Education Annex from 11am-1:30pm. Beginner friendly!

🧵Saturday, Nov 14 - Jana Jones @mossypuddlepreschool will teach a Sawtooth Star Totebag Workshop at the Education Annex from 10am-4pm. Perfect for onfident beginners to intermediate quilters who are comfortable rotary cutting & machine piecing.

Festival Demo Artist Feature!🧹🍂
Sarah Benson is a broom maker and fiber artist based in Shoreline, WA. Dedicated to a life of creating, learning, and skill sharing, she began focusing on traditional handicrafts in earnest while homesteading in the San Juan Islands. When not creating, she is busy running after her rambunctious toddler.

Find her demonstrating broom making at the Festival on Friday, 9/25 from 3:30-5pm and online at @sunbunnystudio!

Last week I got to sit down and sew with @colleen.wise after we were reintroduced at the @qfamuseum and it was so illuminating. I first met Colleen at Quilt National in 2023 and she was shocked that I remembered her first acceptance there 20 years before because I was a nerdy young mom with no quilty friends and had just discovered the existence of the QN show and the concept of quilts as fine art and I knew I wanted to do that “someday.” Our chat 3 years ago made me realize we all have fits and starts and blocks and rejections and you just keep making…💚♥️💙 Last week I was most tickled that she was sewing the sleeve on this gorgeous quilt before hanging it the next day and I found that relatable! Her show is up at the museum so come have a look for yourself if you are coming to the #IQFAF in La Conner next weekend! Museum admission is included in your festival pass and there is a free fiber Vendor marketplace across the street at the Civic Garden Building by @qfamuseum
