I knit a couple pieces to celebrate the opening of my solo exhibition “Having a Moment” running now through October 6th @qfamuseum !!! I’ve been knitting so hard for so long and I’m so excited!!

I am excited to tell you about the Pony Up! Quarter Horse Project by the Wade J Woodmark Foundation. This foundation supports families who have suffered from gun violence. Unfortunately, more and more families find themselves in this tragic category.

This foundation and art project are the brainchild of gallerist and art collector, Talley Woodmark based in Depoe Bay, Oregon located on the Oregon coast.

Artists across the country have been selected to transform a pony (visualize the ponies you may have ridden on in your youth) applying their unique style.

I am honored to join a herd of artists who have all been invited to decorate a pony as part of the Pony Up!

My pony head will feature my signature feathers which happen to look a lot like horse manes. There is a long and historic connection between horses and wings. Hopefully my pony will join that lineage.

This piece, titled “Butterfly Effect/Efecto Mariposa,” was shown in 2011 at the Diego Rivera Museum in Mexico City, where it was part of an exhibition of textile installations sponsored by the World Textile Association (WTA). In 2022, I showed it again at my exhibition ‘Avianto’ at the Train Station Museum in Chapala, Mexico. The suspended feathers are large scale digital prints of my fabric feathers. The slowly spin and drift in the air currents created by the viewers. The suspended installation can be hung in different ways. The size ranges from 10 feet high and 6 feet across to 6 feet high by 10 feet across. Just depends on the available space. Studio Updates. May 2024
Again, thank you @plants_by_brian for including me in the recent Shift Change exhibition. I'm honored to have had the opportunity to share my unique perspective with your audience. I'm thrilled to be working with you again for my solo exhibition “Will Be King” at @qfamuseum in September 2025!

Also, I'm thrilled to announce my solo exhibition at Wabash College in January 2025 entitled “Amen”! The last installment of my church series. Basically, part 2 of “Take Me Back”. ⛪

I'm excited to be working on 2 dynamic shows for 2025! I'm currently in the studio planning and thinking about both shows and the artistic direction. Thank you @kkurated @plants_by_brian and @wabashcollege for the many opportunities. I appreciate all of you 🫶🏾✨🔥

We were introduced to Bella through her art when we were invited to review for "The Bojagi Journey" show, at the Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum.
Bella's captivating piece, "Jogakbo Journey: Into the Green, 2023", stood out as our favorite, and the piece was also featured on the article's cover for the International Examiner.

My brother @benvenom is second to none in the quilting game. His quilts are mostly made out of recycled fabrics and are hand sewn to perfection by a young master. He has had more museum shows than most established artists after 30 years of being in the art game compared to his 10 Do your research and you’ll realize this young artist is the real deal.
