Most people are only practising the modern form of Baduan Jing. The traditional warrior old form is harder to practise but definitely has more isometric benefits for the body. We need to preserve it. Qigong anywhere, Qigong everywhere. The good thing about shaolin qigong. you can practise it anywhere #qigong #shaolin #baduanjing #preservetraditions #oldisbetterthannew taken in Asahikawa, Hokkaido by @qigongwithandy

In many forms of Qigong movements, you will see the action of calf raises added in the movement. In Ba Duan Jing, in Yi Jin Jing, in 5 animals Qigong, simply because 6000 years ago when they didnt have any supplements or modern medicine to help the body, they discovered that movements itself can heal the body #qigong #mobility #shaolin #trybeforeyoudeny #executivewellness taken in Singapore by @qigongwithandy

Since young, I love Qigong and I love to write songs. Trying out my first time writing a spanish song: La Sopa. Enjoy my soup :)
@esin_ozgules @mujgancetinnn @nihanguntekin @semiragunay hope you enjoy dancing to this on the Yacht :)
Qigong is like cooking a good pot of soup. 🍲
Too much fire, and the soup burns. Too little fire, and the flavours never develop.

The same goes for Qigong. Too much tension restricts movement; too little intention loses its purpose.

The secret is finding the right balance — gentle movement, steady breathing, and a calm mind.

Slow fire, deep nourishment. 文火慢炖,养身养心。

SHAOLIN HANDS 🐉🐅

In Shaolin training, we develop the Dragon Spine and Tiger Hips — learning to move the body as one connected system.

Power begins from the ground.

Ankles → Knees → Hips → Spine → Shoulders → Elbows → Wrists → Fingers

Feel the movement rise like a wave through the body, from the legs into the hips and spine, and finally into the hands.

Whether striking, pushing, pulling or changing direction, the sequence remains: the hands are the end of the movement, not the beginning.

Then understand the power of the circle.

The body does not move in a flat 2D circle. Its circles are three-dimensional — spiralling, rotating and changing through 360° in every direction.

Train the circles. Explore the uncomfortable angles. With practice, make the uncomfortable comfortable.

Connect the joints. Feel the wave. Move in circles. Special thanks to my Qigong student @shiftwithstan #qigong #executivewellness #mobility #hipsandspinemobility #healthtipsdaily by @qigongwithandy

I hated this squatting form when I was 14. But now I am really thankful to my master for making us do this for one year before learning any martial arts move. Watch and repeat after me. Yi Jin Jing squatting form number 7 出爪亮翅 — training the Dragon Spine 🐉 and Tiger Hips 🐅.

Dragon Spine develops controlled movement through the spine, encouraging mobility, posture awareness and coordination.

Tiger Hips builds strength and control through the hips and legs, supporting balance, stability and everyday movements such as squatting, standing and walking.

Practised slowly with steady breathing, the form combines mobility, lower-body strength, balance and body awareness — physical qualities that help us stay capable and active as we age.

龙脊虎胯 — Dragon Spine, Tiger Hips.
Move well. Stay strong. Train for longevity.

Qigong anywhere, Qigong everywhere. When you really love Qigong, you can practise it anywhere. Even on a yacht that is going at 40knots per hour. @esin_ozgules

PS: This wasnt autonomous driving. The driver of the boat was on the upperdeck controlling the boat and he is an experienced driver. and this was out in the open sea where there was no boat traffic. @esin_ozgules thank you to your stable hands. eline saglik

It is my joy and honour to complete a wonderful 10-day journey teaching Five Animals Qigong (五禽戏) to Andreas Gauger, CEO of Open-Xchange, and his wife, Maika Gauger.

What I enjoyed most was the opportunity to go beyond simply teaching movements.

Five Animals Qigong is an ancient practice inspired by the Tiger, Deer, Bear, Monkey and Crane. Each animal develops a different quality of the body and mind — strength, mobility, balance, coordination, breathing and awareness.

Over these 10 days, our practice focused on something I continually emphasize with my students: Qigong is not about doing more. It is about learning to do more with less energy.

To slow down.
To breathe naturally.
To release unnecessary tension.
To become more aware of how the body moves and responds.

For leaders who are involve in constant responsibilities, decisions and demands, learning how to deliberately shift into a calmer and more present state can be an important practice in itself.

This is where the philosophy of 禅武归一 (Chan-Wu-Gui-Yi) comes in — bringing together mindful awareness, martial practice and cultivation of the body as one.

Thank you, Andreas and Maika, for your friendship, openness, curiosity and commitment throughout these 10 days. It was a pleasure sharing this journey and the practice of Five Animals Qigong with both of you.

Cultivate the body.
Cultivate the breath.
Cultivate the heart.
