Antic is back at TLC this November, scelebrating the Scorpios in our lives this time around. In addition to your usual madmen @qtc_chicago and @nate.thompson3 (Scorpio), we have invited two of the strongest record slingers in the city, Sold! @glorbis and Tiny Muscle Demon @tinymuscledemon (Scorpio).

Sold:
Sold has been a Chicago DJ for over a decade now, playing all over the city during that time, from clubs like Smartbar, bars and DIY spaces in between. They have been a Gramaphone employee for over 11 years and love trying to recommend the weirdest cuts to people who will listen. They also run the label Lizard Label with their spouse, Hi-Vis.

TMD (she/her):
Hailing from just northwest of Chicago, TMD is a rising force behind the decks and a fresh face quickly making waves in the city’s dance music scene. Encouraged by a tight-knit crew of seasoned DJs and armed with a background in classical music, she dove headfirst into the craft in July 24' and hasn’t looked back since.

In a matter of years, she’s developed a sound that’s all her own: a dynamic fusion of old-school rave energy, deep house textures, and left-of-center techno and breaks. Her sets are unpredictable in the best way, equal parts nostalgia and surprise, groove and grit.

Mark your calendars for 11/06/26 and prepare for an Antic filled with slammers, oddities and left turns, all necessities for all movers and groovers.

It’s hard to believe a year has past.

Over the past year, Antic has taken pride in creating communal spaces for everyone to enjoy music and express themselves freely. We are so thankful for everyone who has been a part of this and we are looking forward to continuing. 🖤

To mark the celebration of our one year anniversary, we are extremely excited to welcome a lineup of heavy hitters into the booth on October 10th. We are pleased to welcome Carpet & Snares/Inner Balance boss @jcaiado back to Chicago from Lisbon. Mentored by Chez Damier, with 20 years of experience in the underground and global scenes. He will be joined by local staple of the Chicago underground @sassmooth. Antic residents @nate.thompson3 and @qtc_chicago will be kicking us off.

Antic’s one year celebration is ending at The Listening Club, but the party will start at @gramaphonerecords for four more hours of music. In the afternoon hours leading up to the night party, Antic will be back in the booth at Gramaphone Records for some daytime party action. This time, we are excited to welcome @jcaiado for a taste of the night to follow and a crossover with the global powerhouse: @carpetandsnares out of Lisbon. Admission is free and all DJs will be playing Gramaphone store stock exclusively. Meaning all records we play will be available for purchase. Rise and grind! Antic is back on the books and in full force. On September 18th, we are hosting our first residents’ night at the Chicago Instituation that is @lemon_chicago. Come join Nate T and QTC for an extended four-hour B2B, and celebration of QTC making another trip around the sun.

For this night at Lemon, entry fee is a suggested donation of $10 dollars. All donations and ticket purchases going directly towards our booking calendar for the course of the next year, as we are looking forward to expanding Antic and hosting the most incredible selectors and musicians from around the globe in Chicago.

We are proud of the fact that we have been able to construct intimate and curated parties at many of our favorite institutions across Chicago. We cannot wait to continue this. Thank you for being the crowd that makes this happen; You all are awesome.

Buddy, I miss you. It hurts, but I'm glad I remember you and its important to know what we all lost. You cared for so many people, animals and plants. You are an invaluable brother, friend, advisor, listener, teacher and so much more. That does not change even though you've left your body. I will always love you and will always remember how much you gave. Thank you for being my best friend, always.

Next up in our introduction to the faces behind the Antics: QTC. Besides being a friendly and familiar face in the Chicago music scene and behind the desk at Gramaphone Records, Conrad (QTC) is the other half of the Antic operation.

A conversation with Conrad:

1. What influences your track selection? Sounds mainly. Sometimes mouthfeel.

2. Why do you play records over other forms of media? It just more fun and more gratifying to play with an unstable medium. It gives much more risk, but in turn more reward when things go right, or you fix things when they’re going wrong.

3. Who is an artist you’re keeping an eye on? So many. In order to slim it down, I’m not choosing any artist who has played an Antic Party or provided us a mix. If we booked em, our eye is on em. Same goes for Gramaphone’s current staff + alum.

FUJ @lordfudge is an Artist consistently doing interesting things, and playing amazing music. If FUJ is playing, I want to be there. While he is far from new, he has consistently shown that ignoring him is a mistake.

4. What is a record we can expect in your bag at the next Antic? A1000 by Googoosh Dolls @googooshdolls. No idea how im fitting it in a minimal set. Positive i will fit it in because its so damn good. Likely playing “Ajab” but the whole thing bangs.

There is no better way to spend your Saturday afternoon than listing to rumbling, rhythmic and spaced-out sounds with your friends. Which is why you should join us on June 13th from 1pm to 9pm at The Listening Club for the Antic dubbed out day party! We're bring out two heavy hitters this time around, Antron from NYC and IT-XPO, who moved back to Chicago from NYC just to play this party. Whether you're coming in to continue your Friday night fun or start your Saturday shenanigans early, this party is where it is at. We hope to see you there.

IT-XPO: formerly NYC based musician, now Chicago

A New York native rooted in the American techno spirit, Antron builds sets and productions around emotion, intensity, and flow. He is the organizer behind the event series and label Terroir Recordings focusing on personality-driven electronic music.
As a vinyl DJ his dance sets feature cerebral techno & house mixed at a fast pace while his ambient selections have made him a regular at deep listening spaces across NYC. He has played at Bossa, Light Sound Design, Silence Please, The Lot Radio, Dover Street Market, and 8 Ball Radio, where he has hosted his show Basal Rate since 2022.
He has delivered cult mixes for outlets ranging from modern midwest label Fixed Rhythms to the Plovistan collective in Central Asia, while his productions have seen support from Kush Jones, Rose Kourts, and DVS1.
