Honoured to witness the Belgian Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, where Miet Warlop presents IT NEVER SSST.

A powerful and poetic universe in which sculpture, sound, movement and performance dissolve into one another. The pavilion unfolds as a living choreography of objects, fragments and gestures.

Honoured to have welcomed Master in Residence Frank Braley and @yoonsoo_yeo to our Quadrivium edition at the @musicchapel

Frank Braley is a French pianist renowned for his poetic touch and refined musicality. Winner of the 1991 Queen Elisabeth Competition, he has since built an international career as a soloist, chamber musician and educator, performing with leading orchestras and teaching at the Conservatoire de Paris.

Yoonsoo Yeo is a South Korean cellist known for his warm sound and expressive artistry. Trained at the Curtis Institute of Music, he is quickly gaining attention through international performances and competition successes, establishing himself as a rising voice in today’s classical music scene.

Michaël Borremans’ The Pope (2020) is a haunting oil painting, blending classical portraiture with surreal abstraction. Part of his Coloured Cones series, the piece reflects themes of authority and ambiguity, typical of his work. Summer Recital.

It was our absolute honor welcoming virtuoso Paul Heyman in our midst.

Paul Heyman is a Belgian cellist, mainly active as a soloist and in chamber music.

Highlights include concerts in prestigious venues and festivals such as Bozar, Beethoven Festival Bonn, Tivoli Vredenburg, National Concert Hall in Dublin, Festival of Flanders, La Seine Musicale in Paris, and many more.

In addition to his other activities, Paul has been freelancing as a solo cellist with the National Orchestra of Belgium since 2023.

Paul Heyman plays on a cello made circa 1740 by J.C. Hoffmann, the chief supplier of instruments to J.S. Bach in Leipzig.

Luxor Temple, located on the east bank of the Nile River in Luxor (ancient Thebes), Egypt, stands as an enduring testament to the grandeur and spiritual significance of the New Kingdom era. Constructed primarily under the reigns of Amenhotep III and Ramesses II during the 14th and 13th centuries BCE, the temple complex exemplifies the architectural prowess and religious fervor of ancient Egypt. Unlike other temples dedicated to specific gods, Luxor Temple was a ceremonial site for the rejuvenation of kingship, closely linked with the Opet Festival—a key religious event that celebrated the divine birth and renewal of pharaohs.

The temple’s grandiose design features colossal statues, imposing pylons, and an avenue of sphinxes, creating a majestic pathway leading to the temple entrance. Intricately carved reliefs adorn the walls, depicting various pharaonic achievements and divine interactions, highlighting the seamless blend of political propaganda and religious devotion. The Hypostyle Hall, with its forest of towering columns, and the inner sanctuaries, reserved for the highest religious rituals, further emphasize the temple’s role as a bridge between the divine and the mortal realms.

Moreover, the Luxor Temple’s alignment and spatial orientation reflect sophisticated astronomical knowledge, aligning with significant celestial events that underscored its sacred significance. Today, as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Luxor Temple continues to inspire awe and scholarly intrigue, offering invaluable insights into ancient Egyptian civilization’s religious, cultural, and architectural achievements.
