Punisher by Savithri Velaga (@savi.factory) is a book chronicling different punishments throughout history. Included are the Catholic hair shirt, the scold’s bridle, and Jeremy Bentham’s panopticon. The chapters are organized by theme, exploring punishment as adornment, public spectacle, divinity, and discipline. + Book Release + Quality Time will be at SFABF (@sfartbookfair) July 23-26, find us at Booth Z36! Book Slop 1: Noise by artist Joel Lithgow (@joellithgow) is an illustrated collection spanning theoretical chords, pre-existing experimental work, and sonic explorations of the downright absurd. Dive Barn is an annual arts and music gathering celebrating creativity and connection in a stunning rural setting. We designed the identity, merch, signage, and socials for the most recent iteration of the event. The identity builds on an archival logo inspired by notions of fossilized tech and corporatized agricultural systems. We led with a rejection of agro-chemical monoculture and foregrounded a post-tech detritus sensibility. By prioritizing analog methods, we experimented with wax, sun exposure, insect interactions, and Maria’s backyard garden to uniquely weather the graphics and type. We designed a guide for attendees that included maps for the art installations and hand painted signage denoting facilities and camping areas. We took care in highlighting the existing character of the festival grounds, the Yorkville Schoolhouse Ranch, a property stewarded by the Henderson/Carlson family. In collaboration with Dive Barn organizers Joel Lithgow (@thisisahousegallery), Katherine Jemima Hamilton (@offhours_sf), and the Henderson/Carlson family (@inggybinggy). by @qualitytime.fun

Part office, part living room, part library - Office Hours is a temporary space where professional output and personal practice merge. The exhibition features a range of projects and catalogues that invite guests to view, reflect, and make copies - framing these works as both art and reference. The studio becomes a gallery and workspace, infiltrating the 9-to-5 and blurring the lines between cultural input and output. Quality Time’s Office Hours is a publication exhibition featuring select Bay Area galleries and presses. In bringing our shared local archive into CCA’s MFA studio, we highlight the foundational role of local communities in institutional space.
