⭐️ WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE READY WEDNESDAY ⭐️

To my surprise, last month I received an email that I was apart of the 4️⃣% chosen to run the NYC Marathon this year. As grateful as I am, if you know then you know the only star I REALLY REALLY wanted was Chicago. My desire to run a major in my city runs deep (pun intended). Trust me everyone has heard me whine about it year after year 😂.

There is so much I can say, but I learned on this run journey, that sometimes you have to keep things to yourself. Long story short, this past weekend was magical and I had to sit in it for a while before I shared it with the world (unless you follow me on Strava, then you already know 🤣). I became a Boston Qualifier. I have a decent buffer, but you never know what B.A.A. cutoff times will be. The feeling of actually EARNING the title as a Boston Qualifier and knowing the hard work I put into the training, I am speechless. What will Coach Maya do about getting extra time on her buffer before B.A.A. Application Window opens in September? I guess you will have to wait and see.

Now, Chicago give me my guaranteed entry for 2025, I have a qualifying time 🤪.

See you in November NYC. I am looking forward to the electric spectators.

This course and came with curves, slants, an out and back, and rolling hills and this course was on the low end of elevation in their race series.

STILL REFLECTING… ❤️🔺🐘

My FIRST Eastern Regional Conference, and what an experience it was! 🥹❤️

To experience ERC in Baltimore alongside my line sisters and the Sorors of my chapter made this moment even more special.

The hugs. The laughter. The conversations. Meeting new Sorors. Reconnecting. Learning. Celebrating. And being surrounded by so many phenomenal women in Crimson & Cream… ❤️🤍

There were moments when I simply looked around and thought…

WOW. I really get to be a part of THIS. 🥹

This sisterhood is truly something special. It’s bigger than us. It’s generations of women connected by Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service & Social Action—and I am so grateful to now be part of this incredible legacy.

My first ERC is officially in the books, but the memories, the love, and the sisterhood will stay with me forever. ❤️

I came home with a FULL heart, even more inspired, and even more grateful to be a DELTA GIRL! 🔺

I’ve been sitting…
really sitting…
in reflection and gratitude—
taking in everything around me,
everything that carried me here.

And I can still see her…
that younger version of me—
pen in hand, hope in heart—
filling out that Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. academic scholarship application in the 90s.
Dreaming. Believing. Declaring without even saying the words out loud,
“This is where I belong.”

And when I received it?
That wasn’t just an award…
that was confirmation.

Even now—
every time I look at that academic excellence award from THEE Best Sorority,
I get chills.
Because I realize…
I was planting seeds in soil I hadn’t even stepped into yet.

And now… I’m here.
On the other side of the dream.

So if a young girl—
any young girl—
looks at me and sees possibility,
sees purpose,
sees herself…
then I’ve already started giving back what was once given to me.

Everything I start—
I finish and see it through, no matter how hard it may be‼️

My heart…
is abundantly full.

Full of love.
Full of sisterhood.
Full of a bond that has shifted, grown, and deepened into something sacred.

My sisters… now my Sorors…
what we have is real.
And what we’re building?
It’s only getting stronger.

The love.
The guidance.
The mentorship poured into me over the years—
unmatched.

And I love ALL of you… REAL BAD‼️

🖤 BLACK LOVE STILL EXIST 🖤

26 years… and my heart still chooses you.

Thank you for loving me without limits and for supporting every dream I’ve ever had—never questioning, never doubting, always standing beside me. Your belief in me has carried me through seasons I didn’t even know I could survive.

Through countless military moves, raising our children often without a safety net, and navigating life when it felt heavy, we still protected us. We found time for each other. We chose friendship, laughter, and love—again and again.

I love you to the moon and back. It’s you and me, babe, until our wheels fall off. We’re not perfect, but we are perfect for each other. Two imperfect people who made it this far—and prayerfully have a lifetime ahead to keep making memories, hand in hand.
