Meet Talei.

If you’ve fallen in love with something from our pastry case, chances are Talei had something to do with it.

Talei is the extraordinarily talented baker behind Quench’s beautiful and delicious sweet treats—creating everything from our cinnamon rolls and delicate friands to kolaches, cakes, cookies, and our much-loved Basque cheesecake.

Her baking is thoughtful, beautiful, and rooted in the same philosophy we bring to everything at Quench: exceptional ingredients, wonderful flavor, and food made with care.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have her as part of our Quench family—and we thought it was time you officially met the woman behind all those beautiful pastries.

We’re pleased to announce that beginning October 29, Quench is extending our hours to include Thursdays!

BEGINNING OCTOBER 29, 2026
THURSDAY–SUNDAY • 8 AM–5 PM

Seven fabulous weekends in the books!

We’ve embraced some big changes, welcomed new faces to our team, tried new things—and are finding a flow that works! All the things a soft launch is intended to accomplish.

Our extended deli hours and newly added menu items have been a huge success, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible support you continue to show us.

Thank you for showing up and cheering us on with your warm Nevada City welcome! It’s been wonderful getting to know you all ( and lovely to see old friends!).

We experimented with Grab & Go sandwiches this weekend, and we think they’re here to stay.

Alongside our made-while-you-wait sandwiches, Quench will now offer a selection of freshly made, ready-to-go sandwiches and salads — the same gorgeous, delicious food you’ve been loving for the last SIX weekends (yes… SIX! Can you believe it?) without the wait.

Weekend No. 5. 🤍

A Constitution Day Parade, a bustling Broad Street, familiar faces, new friends, and another beautiful weekend at Quench.

Five weekends in, we continue to be moved by the warmth and generosity of this community. Truly, we could not ask for better customers. Thank you for coming through our doors, sharing Quench with friends, returning week after week, and allowing us to become a part of your lives here in Nevada City.

And to our Dream Team — Susie, Sam, Robin & Mikaela … and one of the stars of the show… our in-house baker EXTRAORDINAIRE… Talei — thank you!

This week’s baked goods offerings! A GREAT way to start your day. Pair it with a FABULOUS cup of Yungas Coffee with Alexandre Family Farms cream!!! Nothing better (in our humble opinion). Hospitality, the Quench way.

When we opened our doors, we made the difficult decision to temporarily pause catering while we found our rhythm in the new storefront.

When we were approached to provide a beautiful grazing board for a special local event, we said “of course we will”.

We explained that, for now, we wouldn’t be able to offer delivery or setup. But, when our customer arrived on foot to collect a five-foot (Heavy and Very Full) grazing board, it quickly became clear that something else was going to need to happen.

So we gathered a few helping hands, carefully loaded everything into a car—with a bit of the board making its way out the window—delivered and set it up.

Because hospitality, to us, is about more than beautiful food…It’s about an elevated customer experience… every time.

That’s the Quench way.

We’re pretty sure Quench has one of the best-kept secrets in Nevada City — our Susie.

Originally from Barcelona, Susie brings an adventurous spirit, a world traveler’s curiosity, a corporate law background, several languages, a fantastic sense of humor, and a work ethic that continually amazes us.

But what we love most is simply who she is. Warm, funny, capable, generous, and an absolute delight to work alongside.

We genuinely feel like the luckiest business in town to have Susie as part of our little Quench family — and we thought it was time our community got to know the wonderful person behind that big smile.

Meet Susie. We adore her. We think you will, too. 🤍

Yesterday, Quench was delighted to help kick off the Nevada City Zero Waste Summit with a beautiful vegetarian grazing table for the evening reception. 🌿

A celebration of good food, thoughtful choices, and community — all things very close to our hearts.

A big shout-out to Nevada City Councilmember Micayla Sortland for organizing and hosting such a meaningful community event. We were so pleased to be a part of it.
