“Golden Afternoon”

California poppies and wild roses bloom in the foreground alongside a Bay checkeredspot butterfly, Anna’s hummingbird, and a Crotch’s bumblebee. Bougainvillea bushes and golden lantanas, found throughout the neighborhood, bring a sense of familiarity. Gentle waters sit at the base of the Santa Clara Valley mountains, lit up by a vibrant Bay Area sunset. A serene sanctuary for the Mayfair Golden Manor community, inspired by the beauty of East San Jose.

We’re so pleased with how this turned out! Huge shoutout to @empire7studios for supporting us throughout. We are always so grateful.

Starting 2026 by painting this poem for @muralsochoa’s latest restoration in Carlsbad, originally painted in 1983.

The poem reads:
“Carnales and homie’s,
This mural is dedicated to our people
To try and educate the next generations.
Protect this mural like your future.”

A roundup of my last few mural restorations with @muralsochoa and the @chicanosteeringcommittee. It was an honor to help bring these back to life.

“Bridge People Mural” depicting the history of Chicano Park parallel to the history of Tenochtitlán. Originally designed and painted in 1983 by Lowell Elementary (now Perkins) 3rd grade class led by Victor Ochoa (@muralsochoa).

“Che Mural” originally painted in 1978 by Victor Ochoa and Gonzalo Placensia,
and “La Historia de Mexico” originally painted in 1978 by Victor Ochoa, Raul Espinoza, and the students of Sweetwater High School.

“The Children’s Mural” One of the oldest murals in Chicano Park, originally painted in 1973 by los niños de Barrio Logan.
