Really, really excited to announce Quiet Control’s next label release. A (mostly) self-titled debut from Mist (53). Beautiful, texturally rich dub techno from the legend behind all of your favorite Mooncloud projects. We will be celebrating the release at community garden next Thursday night with a Mist (53) live set, and music all evening. Limited edition CD’s will be available, and are also available to pre-order now on Bandcamp.

EXCITING NEWS!

Quiet Control has expanded! Been a long time coming, and I’m so excited to show off! Over 100 new titles on the shelves, as well as lots of restocks.

To celebrate, I will be spinning records from 7-10ish tonight that are new to the bins and talking about them a bit up at the shop. I’d love to see you, chat music with you, and you get first dibs on all the newest.

So much thanks to @andrewgwhited for building the addition for me and spending the morning up at the shop installing it and thanks to James at @communitygarden.austin for letting me take up more space in the shop - it’s thanks to all of you for coming out and picking up strange records at this little shop.

Hard to find the words to express the last couple of days. @romeo.poirier came down to Texas for the first time, and it was beyond special.

Sunday night, Roméo transported a sold out show at The Echo Bridge to some sort of dream world - enveloping around us and pressing upon reality. @_space_available started the night with an incredible set - his sets are always one of a kind and they never ever miss. Texas is lucky to have him, as well as INTERZONE (@wrldmchne @ark.eq @_ghostdrank) who closed the night out with a perfect set for the bridge - and sent everyone off into the night on a high note.

On Monday, we made the journey to Quiet Control’s home base, @communitygarden.austin - where an incredibly mindful and enthusiastic crowd joined us for an intimate night that felt like we had the pleasure of sitting in a living room together and enjoying the sounds with one another. INTERZONE brought it, once again. Roméo… words can’t express the set. Truly took us all to somewhere else.

So many people to thank, most importantly, every person who came out and sat with the music and let it live next to them over these two nights. Everyone was so respectful, and kind, and in tune. So many lovely familiar faces, and so many new ones. Thank you all for making it so, so special.

Massive thank you’s to the @echobridgeappreciationsociety crew, Justin, Jeff, and JJ as well as the @communitygarden.austin crew, James, Ava, and Tanner.
To @_sa_2040_ for running it in San Antonio, making sure we were all set and it sounded amazing.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out on Thursday night to celebrate Quiet Control’s 2-year! What a fun night!! I’ve still got a few hats available - if you need one, get one! If you’re in Austin holler and we can meet up soon. I also threw a few up on Bandcamp for our friends not so close to town.

woah - what?!? time is still passing?!?

2 years of quiet control… a bit wild to imagine, really. is it going quick? is it going slow? not really sure. but it’s going. i can’t thank everyone enough for the support over these couple… records bought, events attended, nice messages sent. it all means a lot more than you know. come celebrate with a really fun group of friends playing music all night at the home base this thursday. (there will be a very limited merch drop available)

anyways. lots of thoughts to feel. lots of words could be said. at the end of the day, come give me a hug. here’s to more years of good music. taken in Austin, Texas by @quiet__control

End of Ego - End of Ego (QC003)

In the fall of 2018, as I prepared to move away from my hometown, a dear old friend and frequent collaborator sent me an EP of music he had made during a lunar eclipse that happened on July 27th of that year.

As I listened for the first time, I broke down and cried.
All the feelings of uncertainty around the quickly approaching unknown and the heartbreak of leaving my family and a place I loved behind, came spilling out. Listening to this collection of songs gave me comfort in the beautiful mystery that lay ahead, and an appreciation for the difficult changes that life brings.

Since then, I have often (and unintentionally) returned to those songs during different times of uncertainty, longing, and change. They have never ceased giving me the comfort and clarity that they did on that first night, as I walked through my neighborhood listening.
It is well past time for this music to exist out in the world, and hopefully, it can provide a similar effect for someone else in a time of sonic need.
