Long week and it's only Wednesday. Kid started high school and we've been building bookcases and organising since Sunday. The school runs while she gets used to the walk home have been exhausting 😭 but! I've finished organising and unhauling and after dragging the futon cushion over I now have an excellent reading spot. by @quillnqueer

One of my current reads is Weavingshaw, and such a GOOD gothic fantasy. I love that the cast is diverse, and woven into the story is the authors own experiences as an Iraqi refugee. by @quillnqueer

At the very back of the big cafe in Portsmouth Dockyard, you can pay a small amount of money to get absolutely scammed by ancient grabber machines, or you can even view an American Execution. I spent way too much trying to win myself a duck. taken in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard by @quillnqueer

Penance by Eliza Clark is one of my faves this year, a twisty story with true crime vibes and connections to real world crimes, but I appreciated that the author never used real cases throughout. by @quillnqueer

Is anyone else finding the Booker Prize list this year to be very ✨ vibes ✨? Mind you, this is my first year attempting to tackle the entire Longlist. I've read May We Feed The King, Shadow Of The Object and DNFd Helen Of Nowhere so far. But I'm now reading The Disappearers and that's SO different, it's a really rich story and I can see it being a strong fave. by @quillnqueer
