Wow what a week in San Antonio! James went to the Level 1 Winter National Championships and came away with an incredible 4th place finish! A pretty astounding result for a 10 year old in the Boys 12 and under division! James future is bright as he will have a couple more chances to do even better in the coming years!

James played some of his best tennis and fight through some tough matches with great opponents! I’m extremely proud of the competitive spirit he showed and I’m sure he will continue to work harder!

The trip started out with a ride on the jet with our friends @milesrogers and @lucasrogersports which is a total game changer. A great hitting session with @noahdeluna13_ for James ready for the tourney. As soon as the tournament started, James was playing well and getting through his tricky section of the draw.

There was a trip to the Alamo, Dad smoking everyone at go karts and laser tag, and some great hang out sessions with all of James buds. Definitely a trip to remember and a culmination with a 4th place finish!

Big thanks to everyone who helps James on his journey! The staff at Sunset Hills for giving James a home away from home. @james.l.shapiro for the big improvement on James movement on the court and a little bit of some new strength as well.
@milesrogers for some great hang sessions and always going to bat for James @yonex_usa for providing James with the great tennis equipment
@lindseyborchard for always being my guiding light and voice of reason on this crazy tennis journey

Very exciting news from the Borchard house! As of May 22, 2024 James has become #1 in the United States in the USTA Boys 12 and Under Division! A very incredible accomplishment for James at still 10 years old!

He’s doing very well for himself and it’s nice to take a moment to soak it in but still remember there is lots more learning to do and fun to be had out on the tennis court! It’s an accomplishment that doesn’t necessarily mean anything in the grand scheme of development because 12s really doesn’t matter, however it’s a cool moment for James.

There have been many hours on the tennis court with Dad and brother Beau and all James tennis friends and I thank everyone that has helped him on his path. Now it’s time to back out on the court! taken in Sunset Hills Country Club by @quinnborchard

Easter Bowl 2024!!!!!

One week in the Desert: 4th place in Singles and a freaking GOLD BALL in doubles!!!!

James made his last L1 as a 10 year old certainly memorable as he fought through some tough singles matches to get himself a really good 4th place finish in the Boys 12 and under singles!

Doubles was incredible as him and his longtime friend/doubles partner Taiki began the tournament as the 1 seed and finished as EASTER BOWL BOYS 12s DOUBLES CHAMPIONS!!! This is James first gold ball and hopefully there will be many more coming!

To play on the same courts as the pros is always a treat and the @easterbowltennis did not disappoint. James will be back next year to do it all again!

Many thanks go out to everyone who help James on his journey. @yonex_usa who have supported James since he was 8 years old with everything racquet and tennis gear. @lindseyborchard for being the brains and endless support of this crazy life. @james.l.shapiro for working with James to become a more efficient mover and for also taking his time to come down and help him though the tournament. And a shoutout to @tennisaurus_rex for being a great warmup partner throughout the tournament and playing one of the more epic matches with James that I’ve ever seen in Boys 12s! See ya next year Easter Bowl! taken in Indian Wells Tennis Garden by @quinnborchard

There was a little bit of rain and a few In N Out trips and a very hotly contested singles final. Another great trip to Tucson and James was very fortunate to come away with the titles!

Hi Everyone! I did another another Tennis Podcast with the amazing @and.she.sparkles ! So thankful to be on it and we discussed James at Smrikva Bowl, junior tennis and gear choices, and navigating junior tennis journeys while still trying to have a good time having a life that has a big focus on tennis! It was a fun talk and it would be awesome if you checked it out and watched some of it and gave it a like! Hopefully it can be helpful for some as they navigate through their child’s junior tennis by @quinnborchard
