Playing around with new design concepts. We're working on some double-walled vessels for those who like their drinks extra hot without feeling the burn! Keep an eye out for the product release this Fall!

The story behind the Chief mugs! For years I've wanted to showcase local viewpoints on our functional wares, to capture the beautiful surroundings in our everyday routines. The Chief is the first (of many) designs we are starting to release. The image we use on our mugs comes from a photo I took a while ago, before the bridge and the new build began, a view that nolonger exists! We then create a line drawing from the photo to form into a silkscreen screenprint, which we then use to transfer the design on to the mugs. From there we handpaint all the colour and touch up any fine lines. A lot of love and care go in to these mugs as each one is individually created.

This year I participated in the @potswapofficial (the ceramicists version of Secret Santa!) where you send a pot to someone and receive one from someone else. I just collected mine from the post office and I'm in love with my new mug from @little.toad.pottery! It's very fitting for where I live as my studio is in walking distance to the oceanfront, where you can sit and watch the orcas on the odd occasion they come up this way.

It took a while to choose which of my many designs to send to my @potswapofficial partner. Luckily they also love colour and surface decoration - which didn't help in the decision making! But I'm happy with my choice and hopefully they'll love it just as much! by @r.b.pottery
