70th Anniversary of the Squamish Public Library! 📚✨

I was honoured to attend representing my role as curator of the Foyer Gallery. What a turnout—and so much community pride! A photo booth, scavenger hunt, memory wall, button making, audio time capsule and wonderful archives.

And then I found two treasures in those archives: a 1981 newspaper clipping with a photo of me at 12 years old receiving an art award, and a 1977 clipping about my Mom, Hedi Knudsen, exhibiting her handwoven blankets and pillows at the library.

Mom passed away in 1990, so discovering these pieces of our shared history tonight was incredibly moving. As I stood there as the Foyer Gallery curator, I couldn’t help but imagine how pleased she would be.

Such a beautiful full-circle moment. ❤️

Supporting Local 💜💛

The Loam Hustler was created by women, for women and supporting the incredible women in our community is a big part of what the race is all about.

Every year, we celebrate the women who get things moving from the very beginning:
Our first rider to register, along with the fastest women on each course.

And we wanted those prizes to mean a little more.

Each year, we seek out a local, female-owned business to create something special for these women. And importantly, we purchase these gifts directly from the businesses.

It’s a little tradition we’re proud to continue year after year: women supporting women, while celebrating women. ✨

So… want to meet the talented women behind the gifts? 👀
