🧵✨ Contribute to “The Colors of Grief: (un)Locked in Amber Waiting” ✨🧵
I invite you to take part in this collaborative artwork for my upcoming solo exhibition at the Pablo Center at the Confluence in Eau Claire, WI (Aug 1 – Oct 12, 2025).
📦 Mail me your sewn-together facial tissues (Puffs, Kleenex, etc) representing your personal grief and loss. These will be arranged in a nest-like form beneath a resin-cast tissue reliquary — a sacred space for our collective mourning.
🧶 Stitch short ends of tissues together using threads representing the color(s) of your grief — the number of tissues or stitches can hold symbolic meaning for you. Stitched words are welcome.
💌 Optional: Include a note with your name + email to stay connected.
📬 Mail to: Rhonda Willers
 c/o Willers Art Studio
 PO Box 9
 Elk Mound, WI 54739
 🕊️ Deadline: Now through Oct 3, 2025
💻 Want to sew in community? Join a free Zoom Sewing Circle hosted by me:
* April 15, 2025 | 12–1pm CT

* May 14, 2025 | 12–1pm CT

* June 1, 2025 | 12–1pm CT
 (Register via links in bio)

Your grief matters. Your stitches matter. I am honored to hold this with you. 🤍

I’m so so thrilled and deeply grateful to share The Book of Alchemy: A creative practice for an inspired life by Suleika Jaouad @suleikajaouad which you can pre-order now (link in my bio and stories). Pre-orders and reviews are critical to an author’s support - please consider this if you are able.

The book features the incredible words and thoughts of Suleika and also many inspiring creatives like: George Saunders, Hanif Abdurraquib, Jia Tolentino, John Green, Gloria Steinem, Elizabeth Gilbert, Jon Batiste and beloved Isolation Journals Community leaders Carmen Radley and Holly Huitt. @theisolationjournals

…and with my mind truly blown and heart bursting….me! An essay I wrote about unknown joys is included in this book!

I hope you’ll consider pre-ordering this precious gift of a book

More about the book from the publisher:
For as long as she can remember, Suleika Jaouad has kept a journal. She has used it to mark life’s biggest occasions and to ride its roughest waves. It has buoyed her through illness, through heartbreak, and the deepest oceans of uncertainty. And Suleika is not alone. For so many people, journaling is a process of discovery, sometimes vulnerable and terrifying, always transformative.

The Book of Alchemy is based on the premise that journaling is an essential tool for navigating the challenges of modern life. We live in a world where we’re not only forced to grapple with personal peaks and valleys but also global upheavals far beyond our control—political, social, economic, technological, environmental. More than ever, we need a space for puzzling through.

Designed to be a companion through challenging times, The Book of Alchemy will explore the art of journaling, offering encouragement, direction, and support to those looking for a way to navigate the in-between. It is designed to expand that space, giving readers tools to engage with discomfort, to ask questions, to peel back the layers, to uncover their truest self—and in doing so, to find clarity and calm, to hold the astonishingly beautiful and the often unbearable facts of life in the same palm.

snippets of my two-day terra sigillata workshop @powerhouse_arts in Brooklyn this past weekend

students, the team, and the location/facilities were wonderful

the 308 Brooklyn Red clay (cone 6) from @standardclaycompany was deliciously malleable and held great structure at the same time [a new clay to me]

the results of the line blend testing will come post-workshop and I can't wait to see them

special shout out to @belindayang.studio for facilitating the introduction and helping make this workshop come to fruition by @r_willers

Little bits from @everwood_farmstead today

I’m also pleased to introduce “Close Talker” my (& your) new bestie. She doesn’t understand personal boundaries. She’s slightly jumpy, and yet doesn’t want to step away. …and she was delightful company while I worked on the deck this late afternoon. by @r_willers
