POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The sounds from our diligent lawn mower sent the next episode from “Conversations in the Barn” inside the retreat house where we spoke with multi-disciplinary artist Rhonda Willers @r_willers and writer and musician Sarah Michelle Magill @quiettakes

This shift prompted a conversation about the way Sarah and Rhonda related to space this week — both their physical work spaces and the space of time they found on retreat. We also talked about ways they will be implementing a little more space for creativity in their lives back home.

Our podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and our website.

My friend Rhonda Willers in and around her studio, the morning after an unexpected spring snowfall. These photos are just one part of a new phase in her work with terra sigillata and ceramics.

It’s always an honor to be invited into someone’s creative sanctuary 🤍 Those moments where we slow down and admire each personalized detail, every photograph or crumpled up to-do list, are quite special!

Join us for Making & Using Terra Sigillatas with Rhonda Willers @r_willers

In this two-day course, you'll create base and colored terra sigillatas to apply to your own test tiles and test forms.

Terra sigillata is a fine clay slip with deep historical roots. Suitable for any temperature range, its colors are vast and can be layered or enhanced to create endless surface possibilities. The workshop explores colored terra sigillatas through patterns, layered designs, and dynamic surfaces.

This is the day! clayAND opens @saratogaclayarts 5-7pm tonight! Online too.

I selfishly organized this show so I could explore how artists are combining clay with other materials -- something I have started exploring this past year myself. It's a ton of fun and I love how each artist brings something different to the theme. I will share more pictures later!

And I'm excited to share that another iteration of this show will be at @nceca in Baltimore in March with the same artists. Excited!
