Last week I showed Henry’s (@rabbitrunsgood) excellent Chevrolet Corvair, this week it’s time for his tiny Italian racer. As it’s #lamacchinadelmercoledi anyway.
Henry had bought this one not that long ago from Fin (@spiritsandshadows) who I actually also got to meet that week. As she is Leo’s (@cncpics) girl and Leo showed us some Ferraris in Pasadena. Small world.

I took a break from posting that sort of went a bit too long, so I thought a post commemorating my recently sold 🇮🇹’87 Alfa Romeo Milano Gold would be a good reason to return. I had this car for a little over three years. It was really fantastic, but I am trying to downsize a bit, and my friend @jhmbb2 had always wanted one, so I was happy to rehome it with him. For some comparison, 1, 3, 5 are from the day I brought it home on April 6, 2023, and slides 2, 4, 6 are from its last day with me on August 15, 2026. Slides 7, 8, 10-12, 16 are from the shop @leichtbauwerkstatt who I bought the car from (not running), slides 13-14 are the Milano’s triumphant display at @macchinissima III, and slide 15 is at @bestoffranceanditaly … The last two slides are with my other red cars. #alfaromeo #alfaromeomilano #alfaromeo75 #socalcars #bussov6 taken in Corona, California by @rabbitrunsgood

A car one wouldn’t expect to see in Southern California, yet I’ve seen it for three years in a row now. Henry’s (@rabbitrunsgood) mighty Renault 10. Perfect for #frenchfriday. Also typical French: I think it’s the first time I saw it actually drive. Just to prove there’s progress in Henry’s fleet. Most of the pictures were taken at the weekly @bobsbigboyburbank cars & burgers I went to with Jonathan (@fuldamobil). But also some pictures of the car on a lift at the Los Angeles French car specialist Ukit’s, earlier that week.

Planning the next LA trip as we speak. Pretty sure I’ll see Henry (@rabbitrunsgood) again, or better yet: I sure hope so. Also hope Jonee (@fuldamobil, definitely seeing him!) and I get to drive Henry’s Subaru Brat, of “chicken tax” fame. Jonee demonstrates how those rear seats work in picture 6. I’ll do the driving. I hope.

I went by @flightlegacycarsandcoffee this past Sunday, and one of the highlights was this magnificent 🇺🇸’89 Chrysler LeBaron GTC Turbo convertible belonging to @aj.is.rad who is the owner of car show cat celebrity @winston.is.rad .. This is such a nicely preserved final-gen LeBaron convertible, and it’s a five speed turbo. I went to see this très belle 🇫🇷’64 Peugeot 403 berline in Newport Beach a couple of weeks back. The family owned it since it was new, and they have kept it very clean, but it hasn’t run in some time. They had it for sale when I went to check it out, but I ended up convincing them to keep it for now and to let Ukit get it back up and running. one more from @carsandcoffeemb last Saturday: this gorgeous 🇬🇧Jaguar XK150 fixed head coupe. These are the final iteration (‘57–‘61) of the XK series. here’s another one from @carsandcoffeemb this past Saturday: a magnificent 🇺🇸’73 Plymouth Road Runner GTX in beautiful bright yellow. I can’t remember when I have ever seen one of these later ‘73–‘74 2nd-gen Road Runners. this past Saturday, I went out to @carsandcoffeemb for the first time, and it did not disappoint. My favorite was this incredibly beautiful 🇮🇹’62 Ferrari 250 GT/E, the first production four-seater Ferrari, and my personal favorite from the prancing horse. This is a Series 2 model with a slightly upgraded interior, but still retaining the separate circular rear lamps on the fins (the Series 3 changed to composites, which I like less). It was also accompanied by a 250 GT SWB in nearly the same color; see slides 6, 7, 11, 17. These would have been on sale together, and buyers of the GT SWB would have a car almost 20x more valuable than the GT/E today.
