Whew! Blood pooling has been the theme for my runs the past week, which has made running less than fun. (YAY POTS!) So, I took it easy and walked the last 5 mins of this morning’s run. But hey, another maintenance 45 mins in the books and the miles count even when chronic illness creeps in and makes them heavier.

87 days until we fly out for the WDW Dopey Challenge!

October Schedule:
@foottrafficpnw Morning Miles this Saturday, 10/10
@why_racing_events Girlfriends Run, 10/18
@why_racing_events Scary Run, 10/24

Come join me for any of these events! Code KARISSA12 saves on any 2026 Why Racing Event! Morning Miles is Free!

5 years of loving this energetic, spunky, sweet girl! 🎂

Wherever she goes, her Luna stuffy follows: doctor’s visits, playground trips, church, bedtime, and everywhere in between. So when we asked how she wanted to celebrate turning 5, she was adamant about going back to @greatwolflodge to see the Legends of Luna.

It was a wild, non-stop 24 hours, but we had the absolute best time celebrating as a family!

So fun getting out in the beautiful weather to move our bodies and connect with old and new friends along the waterfront!

Huge thanks to Emily for leading our warm-up, and to @shokzusa for sponsoring us with demo headphones and post-run treats!

Our new Community Gear Swap table was a hit, and it was so great having 11 runners, walkers, and strollers out with us today!

Since I’m a total PNW wimp, this is our last outdoor community 3-miler before I hibernate indoors for the winter. If there’s still interest, we may pick these back up in the spring!

So grateful for everyone who came out to move and hang out at the marina today!

Whew, my nervous system just didn’t want to today. I slept in this morning and then still had to take an hour nap to stabilize my vision before this one, but…got it done tonight!

It was another 45 minute maintenance run on the calendar today, but I took the opportunity to officially earn this 5K medal too! The Run Princess Family ran this race together (virtually) over the weekend but since I was at the coast for a different race weekend, I earned mine today. Calling this race 22! Thanks for the beautiful medals @beautifully.me25

Girlfriends, a few holiday races, and then bring on Dopey!

Some days training feels like a slog, making me question everything. But then I have days like today that remind me why I started.

After back-to-back race days, I expected to wake up completely sore yesterday, but I woke up ready to run! I held off, knowing my body needed rest and that I’m not quite at 3-day simulations yet. But I crushed an easy 5K tonight and finished thinking, “Wait, that’s it?” My body just wanted to keep going! These are huge wins this far into Dopey training. The excitement is SO real!

97 days until we’re at my happy place!!!
