Welcome to the Race Across Duluth! An epic point-to-point mountain bike race showcasing the iconic Duluth Traverse.

POSTS STORIES REELS

Race Across Duluth 2026 - The 4th edition of the RAD has come to a close, and what a RAD day it was! The Race Across Duluth is the product of a small but mighty group of 6 volunteers that were just dumb enough to think we could pull off a full Duluth Traverse mountain bike race. Over more than a few Ursa beers, we decided to send it 4 years ago. We threw out crazy ideas and made up stuff no other event has done. And we have done it all as volunteers with the intention and goal to create our dream mountain bike event and raise money for the trails. None of us are event planners or really knew what we were getting into, just a shared vision and excitement of putting on an event that everyone could enjoy. The RAD has grown year after year and we have done our best to keep from getting blown away. This year we capped the event at 450 participants and it sold out in 12 hours! The week of, our basement was beyond filled with various food, tables, water jugs, and everything imaginable to put the event on. Our poor Pruis was tested this weekend! I couldn't be more proud of what this crew has pulled off! The 2026 RAD was our best yet! I saw nothing but smiles and the finish line was packed with people still in their muddy lycra for hours on end. It has been a significant amount of work to help organize and put the RAD on, but holy cow does it feel worth it when the chatter about "best race in the midwest" gets thrown around more times than I can shake a stick at. Please thank this crew! And Duluth, Stay classy! The community support of this event has been heartwarming and just grows more and more each year! Lucky to call this place home. If you want to join the 5th edition of the RAD, registration will open 4/20. I am not sure what idea will come next, but I know we will keep making the RAD more RAD! I often get asked if I will ever get to race my own event. As much as I would love the RAD as a race, it is so meaningful to have been a part of creating all the smiles and memories everyone else gets to experience during the RAD. Wouldn't trade it for a spot on the start line in a million years! Thanks everyone! 😍 by @raceacrossduluth

Yesterday Owen and I got to volunteer at our favorite event in the area, the @raceacrossduluth . Epic vibes, great food and so many amazing people. If you haven't heard of ir raced this event, I highly recommend looking it up for next year. by @raceacrossduluth

Come for the race. Stay for the snacks. 😂🚵‍♀️🥪

RACE ACROSS DULUTH understood the assignment.

A point-to-point adventure across Duluth, connecting some of the city’s best trails into one big day on the bike—singletrack, climbs, descents, miles on miles, and plenty of reasons to keep pedaling. 🚵‍♀️🔥

And apparently, you can’t race across Duluth hungry.

Four gourmet refuel stations throughout the race featuring:
🥪 Corktown sandwiches
🧀 Grilled cheese
🥯 Bagels

And waiting at the finish? Yker sausages + Ursa Minor + Love Creamery ice cream. 🌭🍺🍦

Honestly, at some point I stopped racing across Duluth and started riding to my next meal. 😂

10/10 would suffer for snacks again.

Race Across Duluth 2026

The RAD is just a celebration of the local Duluth community and how we intend to always keep it. That's why all the funds from the RAD go back into the trails. If you ever wondered what it takes to make an event like this happen, it all starts out with your trail organization and the volunteers out every week maintaining the trails. Without the thousands of hours annually @coggstwinports trail crews put in we would be unable to have an event like this. Think about taking time to volunteer for your local organization. (Then submit this hours please @trailbotapp)

Now there are way many people thank for an event like this. But here are a few that I interacted with during the event. Take a moment to realize that all these people are just trying to make our trail systems better and let you have a good time.

All the volunteers during the event!

@ursa_minor_brewing (above and beyond)
@beanandbearbagels (ask for the unicorn farts bagel)
@duluthcoffee (#coffeeoutside)
@johnsonsbakerydlh (carbs, yummy)
@coggs_crew (large bit of stoke and volunteers)
@coggstwinports (next year we bring the pain?)
@raceacrossduluth (Thanks Mason)
@corktown.eatery (pickled sandwiches)
@burnettdairyduluthcheesestore (so much amazing cheese!)
@continentalskiandbike (keeping theses riders rolling!)
@theskihut (grilled cheese masters)
@traverseduluth (great aide station)
@duluth_enduro_series (thanks for the timing help!)
@3rdstreetbakery (yum)
@rex_ski_and_bike_usa (next year I'll try your wax)
@lovecreamery (ice cream for days!)
@ykeracres (bonus thanks!)
@umdtechnoclub (epic show)
@pointed_north (look forward to seeing the photos as always!)

Hope to see you all again

Join Race Across Duluth in a day of giving back to the trails!

You may recall from last year's race, an unexpected afternoon rain storm swept through the MIssion Creek area and put a hurt on the trails as the day came to a close. We're excited to be teaming up on some trail improvements that'll help make the trails more resilient to handle the RAD for years to come!

We'll be working on the 'Valley West' segment of the Duluth Traverse with a few important projects on tap:

- Rerouting a segment of trail away from a steep, muddy, and heavily eroded hillside

- Constructing a new bridge

- Repairing and re-shaping other areas of the trail that have seen some damage

The areas we will be working on are about a mile back into the woods, so let's make it a bike to work day! Bring your bike and it'll be a short and sweet commute down the trails to access the work site. We'll meet at the Old Mission Creek Parkway entrance along Highway 210, which is about 1.5 miles west of Chambers Grove. Look for some orange cones marking the spot.

All tools provided, and no prior trail work experience is necessary to make a difference! We hope you can join us.

See you there!

POSTPONED!!

Help out with some RAD trail stewardship!!!

Join us for trail work with the Mission Creek Trail Crew on Saturday July 18th from 10am-1pm. No experience necessary!

Meet at the Mission Creek Parkway entrance off of Hwy 210 with a bike. The ride in from there is about 1.5 miles.

We will also plan on one crew leader on foot if anyone doesn’t have a bike to ride in.

All tools provided, just bring work gloves, closedtoed shoes that you can ride and work in, snacks and water.

Plan is a reroute on Valley West around what was probably the worst/sketchiest mud during the race last year, building one new bridge, and then doing some general mud/rut/trail repair in the area.
