✨Acquisition News: We are delighted to announce the acquisition of @sarahjoy.ford Sarah-Joy Ford's 'Rachael, Study for After Artemisia [1 of 2] ' (2026) to the Katrin Bellinger Collection @the.artists.at.work . This piece focuses on her intergenerational working partnership with the artist Rachael Field @racfie and forms part of Ford's commitment to documenting and unfolding histories of artist-women within the queer community.

This watercolour painting, rendered in Schmincke Horadam Aquarell on Saunders Waterford paper, portrays Field at work in her studio in 2025. The pair of studies are part of a larger project, 'After Artemisia', in response to Field's 1986 painting of the same name, exploring self portraiture and representions of each other as lesbian artists at work. Forming an integral part of her creative practice, detailed watercolour portraits are only one element of Ford's lengthy process in her large-scale quilt-making. Ford is represented by @cassinellimills.

The Katrin Bellinger Collection offers an intimate view of artists' lives, studios, tools, and methods, celebrating the enduring fascination with artistic creation across generations. A remarkable collection dedicated to the enduring theme of the artist at work from the Renaissance to the present day, bringing together more than 2000 examples in a range of media (drawings, paintings, prints, photographs, and sculpture).
