It's RELEASE DAY!!
'Holes In The Somewhere' is finally available in audio only on Audible!

Fourteen tales of woe narrated by seven talented narrators. You'll meet good guys and bad guys, good girls and bad girls, and lots in between. You'll hate them, love them, cheer for them, and miss them when you press STOP.

(It's still not too late to get your promo code for a free copy, though! Just comment below.) by @rachel.feldmann.vo

Not narration related, but took my girls to the local Library storytime group this morning, and we all trick-or-treated at a few community buildings. This was my costume. 😂⚠️🤰🏻 by @rachel.feldmann.vo

Hey hey maybe you thought you wouldn’t hear me for a while…. But here’s a book I helped narrate (recorded earlier this year) along with @breebooks2016 and a few others! It’s available NOW for preorder on Audible and releasing on Halloween 👻 (Paperback and Kindle versions are also available on Amazon, if you want to immersive read, or read it yourself before listening!)

Holes in the Somewhere by Richard R Brown is a compilation of speculative fiction. Some of these stories are DARK, so be warned, but they get you thinking and are certainly entertaining. 😈

It was cool to be part of narrating a book outside what I might normally pick up to read! I hope you check it out ✨🕳️

✨ If you’d like a code to listen for FREE in exchange for a detailed honest review, please reach out to @rbrownauthor on X! ✨

More about the book (especially in case it’s tricky to read above):
“Holes In The Somewhere is a collection of short works, anchored by a personal memoir of the author’s own experience with grief and loss after the passing of his father from cancer, by speculative fiction author Richard R. Brown.

A single mother encounters insanity in the worst possible person; an estranged parent loses his reunited family to a mysterious bathroom wall; a group of strangers come together to fight a fungal pandemic; college students prepare for the extinction of the Sun... these are a few of the challenges faced by the desperate characters in Holes In The Somewhere. The choices they make, the dilemmas they wrestle with, all have very supernatural consequences, but are felt with very human emotions.

These stories will tug at strings your heart thought were too well-hidden for anyone to know about, and cause the mind to probe the gray areas between wrong and right. Between normal and paranormal. Behind what’s real and only to the side of what’s unreal. A perfect mix of quick, unsettling reads, and longer, heart-wrenching escapes.” by @rachel.feldmann.vo

Ok I might not be the first to notice this… but if you haven’t yet, here you go! Those of you who use the Libby app, there’s now an “AI Contributions” section under Settings. (I had to open my app and check it once then let it stay open a bit and check back for it to show up.)
You can update your toggles to have the app show work from humans only, including authors, narrators, graphics/artists, and translators. 👍🏻 Yay humans!

Stop what you’re doing and go read Blood of Scourge & Sparrow by @rebeccaturnerauthor. Make sure you plan enough time, it’s 645 pg - but don’t let that scare you away!! It’s so worth it!!

I won this copy in a giveaway she did a while back and I am SO glad I did because it’s a new favorite, seriously. Here’s my best shot at a review without spoilers, but once any of you DO pick it up - please feel free to message me so we can discuss how much we love it together. ✨ Be on the lookout for my review of book 2, it’s waiting in my kindle queue and I’ll be reading that after a few others (although it’s hard to not just jump right in!)

Review: 5⭐️🙌🏻
I absolutely loved reading this book.
Once I had time to sit and devour it, it was hard to put down.

The writing is beautiful. It makes you feel like you’re part of the story, and connected to the characters. Each of them is developed and so richly described.

There’s magic, action, and love… (also animal companions!) and for me, the elements were all in perfect amounts.

Add in twists I couldn’t predict, and multiple parts that made me cry, & I am wholeheartedly looking forward to reading the second book (and honestly anything else Rebecca writes. So please Rebecca, keep writing!!) 👏🏻 by @rachel.feldmann.vo

It’s bittersweet to pump the brakes on the paid work I’ve finally found that I enjoy so much. I love being a mom, and the fulfillment from that is something special. Finding meaningful paid work one enjoys is also its own special feeling! Ugh. Alas, it’s time. You’ll hear me more in the future, I feel certain. But for now my focus will shift. ❤️ 📚 by @rachel.feldmann.vo

Recording for Giovanna by @c.a.meadows is officially (finally) underway*, with the first checkpoint now under review! 👏🏻 I loved reading this, and am thrilled and feel so blessed to be bringing it to audio. I’ve got the second and third books on my shelf now too (Ashlynn & Barbos) and can’t wait to dig into those! ✨

*My child in utero continues to siphon so much of my energy that by the time my day with birthed kids is over (6-ish am to 8:45/9pm) it’s a toss up whether I can muster the ability to get book work done (and that’s also provided nothing else is hindering recording - lawnmowers, thunderstorms, and the like) in my already very-part-time work window of 9-11pm. 🫠 As always I am SO incredibly appreciative of my authors’ flexibility with timelines right now. 🙏 ❤️

📖 Back to the book! You can pause the screen to read the blurb (hopefully 😅) but here it is too:

✨ Enter the world of Pensatore, the world of the elements. Pensatore is in a constant state of unease as the people of Fire and Water can’t seem to live together in harmony. One great battle threatens both Fire and Water’s kind. Before the battle begins, a miraculous thing happens. Two children are made by the clash of the elements. One of Fire and Water, the other of Earth and Wind. These children are predicted by the Elders to join all the elemental cities together, in peace.

Giovanna, an eighteen year old girl, living a normal life with her family discovers on her eighteenth birthday that she is not what she seems. Her emotions control everything around her and she must figure out how to control them. Walk with her through her journey to discover herself, her powers and Pensatore, her home. With the help of Maylexus, a magnificent pegasus, she battles inner and outer demons. She has to travel to magical places in search of her true ability and purpose. ✨

It’s such a good feeling to check in on a released book and see new reviews. It’s even BETTER when they’re all 5 STARS ⭐️ 🥹🥰
Thank you so much those who’ve already listened! I am so thrilled you enjoyed the story. And if you haven’t checked it out yet, Written in Borrowed Blood by @realadaknight is available on Audible. A standalone gothic fantasy novella at 2.5 hours, it’s a great quick listen.

I do still have additional reviewer codes if you’d like to listen in exchange for an honest review!

🩸 Overview:
A pen that never runs out of ink.
A shop that records what should have been forgotten.
When Rowan Stillwell writes the future by accident, she learns some events don’t wait to be erased.

Rowan Stillwell has always believed the antiques in her shop remember more than they should.

When a stranger sells her an unremarkable fountain pen that never runs dry, Rowan expects nothing more than another curiosity to catalogue. Instead, the pen begins to write on its own—recording disasters before they happen, sealing moments that should still be uncertain. Fires burn. Lives end. And Rowan is forced to confront a terrible truth: some events are not created by fate, only finalized by it.

As Rowan searches her family’s ledgers for answers, she uncovers a legacy carefully erased from history—objects received, never sold, and tragedies quietly bound to ink. The pen has passed through her shop before. And each time, someone paid the price.

Then Alaric Ashbourne walks through her door.

Bound to the pen as its witness, Alaric has spent centuries watching inevitability take form, unable to stop what has already been written. He knows what the pen is. He knows what it costs. And he knows Rowan has been chosen next.

Together, they must decide whether the record can remain open—or whether closing it will demand a sacrifice neither of them is prepared to make.

Dark, atmospheric, and threaded with quiet romance, Written in Borrowed Blood is a gothic fantasy about choice, consequence, and the dangerous power of putting fate into words.
