Hi. It’s me...Rachel! The one usually behind the camera 🤪I started this little career with a stolen camera (my dad’s...relax😂) and my kids as my guinea pigs. What began as a creative outlet somehow turned into a business, and this April marks 16 YEARS of doing what I love. Truly wild.A few things you’ll probably notice right away:• I drink coffee sporadically and only hot. Iced coffee is an abomination.• My caffeine habit is mostly powered by Red Bull. Sponsorships welcome.• My wardrobe is 99% black and I have zero plans to fix that.• I’m either in leggings, wedding workwear, or fully dressed to the nines. The in-between is a newer concept I’m experimenting with.Somewhere along the way, I also became a grandma and I am completely obsessed. And while I’ve shared a lot of my life online over the years, I’m learning that some things are better kept close. Being more intentional about what I share, especially when it comes to the kids in my world, is something I’ve only recently started to implement. Life has a way of teaching you that privacy can be a form of peace.I’ve walked through loss, have found love again, and built a life that feels full in new ways. Those experiences have shaped how I move through the world, how I show up for others, and how I create. I love deeply, value connection, and believe everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and celebrated in front of my camera.At my core, I’m a storyteller. Getting to be creative with my clients and capturing moments that feel real, emotional, and honest is the greatest joy of my life. If my second shooters ever agree to be interviewed… I’m done for. 😂The truth is, they are SO much more than “the person with the second camera.”They’re reading my mind before I even ask.They’re already handing me water because they know I’ve forgotten to drink.They’re answering my 47 rapid-fire texts that all somehow say “Can you grab…” at the same time.They’re fixing dresses, pinning boutonnieres, carrying gear, finding family members, calming nervous parents, and somehow still creating absolute FIRE images.They’re dancing in the middle of the reception because that’s what it takes to get the shot.They’re making sure my couple feels taken care of even when I’m somewhere else photographing another part of the day.They’re the people I can quietly vent to when the timeline goes sideways, laugh with when something ridiculous happens, or lean on for a quick second when the emotions of the day hit harder than expected.The funny thing is… if they’re doing their job well, most people don’t even notice all they’re doing.But I do.My team makes me a better photographer, a better business owner, and honestly, a calmer human on wedding days.So if Netflix ever calls… I’m really hoping they decline the interview. 🤍 by @racheldriskell
