it turns out running photos are wildly unflattering but I paid for them so now you have to look at them

⚠️🚨TW: YAP ALERT🚨⚠️back in August, my running pace was 11 minutes, and my first ever half marathon June 2024 was a 11:40 pace (in Tahoe so I partially blame elevation), I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I decided mid August that I was going to set a goal to run a sub 2 hour half marathon with a 9:09 pace.   I spent a lot of time researching and even more time cross training, focusing on nutrition, and obviously running. It was such an incredibly rewarding experience to watch the seconds and eventually minutes shave off!   I’m not a naturally physically competitive person but this is one of the first times that I’ve been so determined that I can do hard things, and if I work hard I can achieve my goal, and I ended up running with an average pace of 8:51 according to my Garmin, 8:37 according to the CIM (that was definitely off), and by the end I still felt strong!   It’s much cooler to be nonchalant, but I am really proud of myself for sticking to a goal that felt slightly out of reach, and I was able to do it! And I’m feeling really inspired by everyone who did the full thing, maybe the full CIM 2026??? taken in California State Capitol by @rachell.clark
