Oh summer memories picking FIREWEED for tea in the Tatra mountains of Poland. 😊

The days are still beauitful, though as the nights get longer it is memories like these that keep me going through autumn into deep winter.

Memories with plants, with friends in landscapes, with local food and drink. Thank you @returningtobreath

We made fresh tea from these leaves on our last morning in the mountains, though normally I dry and air ferment them to make a delicious, maturer tea.

Also known as; men's tea, korposky tea, Russian tea and Ivan's tea. Fire weed loves to grow where ground has been burnt, yes life does come after wild fires.

Full of health benefits, instructions of how to make is on my website blog.

P.s Good preventitive for postrate issues, hence 'mens' tea' 😘

I LOVED being part of the 6th International Festival of Wicker and Weaving in Poland.

Alongside 105 makers from across the world, it was stimulting, fun, inspiring and humbling.

I didn't take many photos as I was just in it; making, eating, socialising or dancing.

Thank you everyonr, you know who you are, hope to meet you again sometime. X

P.S First image is what I hoped to make (and planned to), last image it what I actually made.

As always, the conversations are just as important as the making for me 💚

ORANGE DAY: Foraging rowan berries. Sometimes I get asked what my favourite fruit to forage is.

It's too hard a question to answer, but today I'm so happy to gather these to whack in the freezer to make this delicious pudding. 🧡

STICKY ROWAN MARMALADE PUDDING - yum and easy to make.

If you don't know rowan berries, they have a complex flavour with bitter under tones, perfect for drinks and this pud!

My Wild and Sweet cookbook gives you all the info to process these berries and transform them into 4 different sweet delights, including this one.

DON'T EAT ROWAN BERRIES RAW, always forage with consideration of the wild birds and wider non-human community too.

Found my yellow trousers and LOADS of wild golden rod after a storm in Poland!!!

Poland is amazing for its wild spaces, and it was the perfect time to harvest this medicinal plant.

Bizarrely, during a crazy storm my washed and drying trousers got caught by a gust and I thought I'd never see them again. 🫥

Then on the way to the last day of the WORLD WICKER AND WEAVING FESTIVAL in Nowy Tomysl, Poland there were my trousers. 🤣

More on the festival soon... so wonderful to be creating alongside 105 international makers.

Golden Rod has been used for thousands of years for inflammation, congestion, aches and pains.

AND it is sunshine yellow with a beautiful scent. ☀️💛☀️

Not many foraging courses left now with me for 2026. Details on my website. X

BLACKBERRY RECIPES using the seedy pulp! Oh my, what a season, what a wild fruit, what a super food!

I've been using this seedy pulp for years, all those omega 3s and omega 6 oils shouldn't go to waste. 😊

I've used blackberry seeds in;
🍇 granola
🍇 bread
🍇 crackers
🍇 whole fruit jam
🍇 paleo dishes

Recipes are on my blog and in my foraging books (Devon one and Wild and Sweet)

BTW - the Devon book is relevant across UK and a lot of North Europe

What a day at @tremenheeresculpturegardens with this lovely lot making bowls and mats out of local plants!

We foraged lightly in the gardens as well as used grasses I'd picked locally.

There's something very special about making from nature and sharing that experience with others, it's one of the highlights of my work.

Join the mailing list to find out dates for next year.
