Every photograph you see is the result of a hundred choices, made in moments both fast and slow.
The camera, the lens, the settings. The light, the time of day, the angle. The subject, their position, their expression. The composition that draws your eye.

Each click of the shutter is where instinct meets intention — where technical skill dances with creativity. And even then, among hundreds of frames, there may only be one — one image that carries that spark, that sense of this is it.

But the journey doesn't end when the shutter closes. Afterward comes another layer of decisions: tones, colours, contrast, balance — hundreds of tiny adjustments, only the photographer knows when it's truly ready to share with the world.

I stand in awe of the great photographers who pour so much of themselves into a single image. Because behind every great photo is not just a scene — but a story, a vision, a piece of someone's creative soul.

This is the beauty of the craft. The endless pursuit of that one shot.

Welcome to My New Creative Chapter

If you've been following me for a while, you know that storytelling has always been at the heart of what I do. In 2006, I launched Wellbeing Magazine to share stories that inspire, educate, and connect. Over the years, I’ve expressed creativity as an artist, designer, and writer—but recently, my creative journey took an unexpected turn.

I recently found myself on a creative retreat in Bali, looking to sharpen my videography and photography skills for the magazine. What I didn’t expect was to fall in love with the art of capturing editorial-style images—where cinematic colours, dramatic light, and the beauty of the human form come together to tell powerful visual stories.

Now, I’m stepping into a new era, blending my passion for storytelling with this newfound love of imagery. This space will now reflect my evolution—where words and pictures come together to create something truly timeless.

Ruby, one of the Mini Gabi World insect girls, was at the Whoop Festival Character Trail earlier this year…..

She is a red dragonfly, so she was the one we placed nearest to the water.

It was lovely designing this trail, bringing the characters into the real world to make new friends ….💛

There’s something I love about arriving somewhere on a beautiful autumn day, knowing I’m about to switch off for the night. 🍂

I spent the night at Silchester Farm, sleeping in one of their wonderfully cosy Pyggies, and it was exactly the kind of stay I love — beautiful surroundings, delicious food, peaceful countryside and the chance to meet fellow journalists while experiencing some genuinely lovely hospitality.

Silchester Farm is a fabulous setting for weddings, corporate events and retreats, but what really struck me is how well it works for a quieter escape too — whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple or with family.

My Pyggie was so cosy, dinner was delicious and it was wonderfully peaceful. I slept incredibly well and woke up feeling properly rested.

I’ll be sharing much more about the stay in Issue 114 of Wellbeing Magazine, out next month. 🍁

Today I went through feeling sad, proud, excited, sad again. 16 years has gone by so fast and I know I'll shed a few more tears over the weekend but I'm so proud of her. I left her cleaning the kitchen....that's a first?!! by @rachellbranson

First professional colour and haircut for many years. Having curly hair is always a nightmare so finding someone who understands and can also apply the right colour is a winning combination.Thank you Hayley for making me 10 years younger!

A huge thank you to the Huawei team for inviting me to Munich to put their latest watches through their paces — quite literally.

Somehow, I found myself cycling up a mountain, which was definitely outside my comfort zone, but probably one of the best ways to really test what a watch can do. I’m also happy to report that my stress levels stayed remarkably good (my watch told me!)… even after I came off the bike on the downhill!

Today was spent at Huawei’s global product launch, where we had the chance to see all the new products and discover what’s coming next.

A brilliant couple of days spent meeting some fabulous fellow journalists and creators, eating far too much good food, pushing myself a little beyond my usual limits and learning a lot along the way.

Thank you to the Huawei team and all the lovely press colleagues who made the trip such fun. I’ll be sharing much more about the new products and our experience with them on Wellbeing Magazine over the coming weeks.
