Toi toi toi to everyone at @bremerhavenballett for tonight’s premiere of TANZRAUSCH! What a joy it has been to create In This Quiet with this beautiful group of artists. I am deeply grateful to the dancers for the trust, openness, and generosity with which they welcomed me into their world, while allowing me to invite them into mine. There has been something very special in this exchange, in the way we have challenged, listened to, and discovered one another through the work. It is this kind of reciprocity that makes creation so meaningful to me. A particularly heartfelt thank you to Bobby M. Briscoe, for your care, sensitivity, and unwavering presence throughout this process. To Alfonso Palencia, for your trust and invitation, and to Louise Flanagan, for bringing such beautiful thought and imagination to our collaboration. And to the technicians, production team, and everyone behind the scenes, thank you for your craft, dedication, and for making this world possible. A big toi toi toi to my fellow choreographers Kinsun Chan and Alfonso Palencia, and to every artist taking the stage tonight. How lucky we are to do what we do, and to find one another through it. In New York, I always remember most the people inside them. Meeting young artists at this point in their lives—with so much urgency, uncertainty, appetite, and possibility—makes me think about what came before me, and what is growing alongside me. How can that not be inspiring? To commit fully to the work, knowing you are part of something both much bigger and much smaller than yourself. To nurture the courage it takes to make, to question, and to keep choosing this art form. For The Time Being became a small record of that time together. Simply, just where we found one another. We share it this weekend at New York Live Arts — August 29 + 30. @movenyc by @rachelleascott

Take a look inside the studio with Rachelle Anaïs Scott and NDT 2.⁣ ⁣ For her new creation for 'Up & Coming Choreographers', Rachelle Anaïs Scott drew inspiration, among other things, from the canary in the coal mine, a creature that often senses danger before anyone else. Together with the dancers of NDT 2, she explores themes of openness, honesty and the sharing of vulnerability.⁣ ⁣ The work premieres next week at Korzo as part of 'Up & Coming Choreographers' and will be performed from 7–11 July.⁣ Tickets via the link in bio.⁣ ⁣ Video: Harmen Straatman⁣ Music: @samuelvanderveer_ @rachelleascott @korzotheater by @rachelleascott
A farewell to the stage—and at the same time the beginning of a new chapter. Tomorrow we bid farewell to dancer @rachelleascott following her final performance in *Dark Matter*, in @marcogoecke ’s solo ‹Tué›, before bringing her career as an ensemble dancer to a close. But this farewell does not mark an end: Rachelle Anaïs Scott will devote herself entirely to her work as a choreographer in the future—and is already one of the most exciting artistic voices of her generation. Her new commissioned work for the renowned NDT II (@ndtdance ) will premiere as early as June. Further world premieres will follow during the 2026–2027 season. We're actively supporting this transition, thereby sending an important signal for sustainable perspectives in dance. Since 2019, a dedicated retraining fund has been supporting dancers in their professional reorientation after their stage careers. “I am currently experiencing several transitions at once: while an intense period on stage is coming to an end, new works are already emerging as a choreographer.” – Rachelle Anaïs Scott We thank Rachelle for her inspiring artistic work on and off stage and wish her all the best for her future endeavors. ⏰ May 27, Kleine Bühne 👉 Link in Bio 📸 @gregorybatardon •••••••••• Deutsche Version in den Kommentaren 👇 by @rachelleascott
