being so very intentional to build the habits of a good villager & one of the easiest ways is by offering our friends something tangible!!! dinner, drop off coffee, hosting for a play date, picking up their groceries, dropping off tea or tinctures when they’re sick, bringing by a sweet treat on a hard week.

it’s not always easy or convenient. but that’s part of the point. if we only offer our help or time when we feel we have a light week or extra wiggle room we are not conditioning ourselves to truly be there for one another!

most of us are bad at reaching out directly for help when we need it. but if it’s offered to us simply? we can accept!

hopefully these give you ideas or inspiration for ways you can bless the friends in your life!!!

spending lots of time in a rocking chair of late + pouring truth out to our kids (and myself!) about Jesus while I do. one of the most tender ways i’m spending time with the Lord right now!

I sat with our 3yo last night as he was emotionally having a hard time going to sleep and sang him all sufficient merit on a loop because it was in my head. this morning when we had breakfast he asked if we could play the song from last night “it is done it is finished”. I melted!!! what a privilege to teach them truths in song form 🤍 by @rachelpradia

at this point I was experiencing some of the most painful contractions of all of labor. what I would describe as 10/10 pain for me. and yet the environment was shrouded in peace! my breathing was controlled. my body was relaxed. my husband was singing this worship song to me.

and 10 minutes later I was holding our perfect baby girl.

birth is a feat. it is painful, it is laborious, it is total surrender. and it doesn’t have to be the chaotic, fast, loud experience that you see portrayed on almost every tv show or movie made.

our homebirth was such a beautiful answered prayer!
still so so thankful this gets to be our story. I learn more and more with each pregnancy and birth to pray bold & specific prayers and trust that God truly wants us to bring those desires to Him & delights in giving us good gifts! of course not every prayer gets a yes, but i’ve grown in my ability to pour my heart out to Him! and it’s beautiful to look and see all of the little ways that He was faithful!!! by @rachelpradia
