This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re encouraging everyone in racing to take action - for yourself, for someone else, and for all of us. 💚

Starting a conversation can feel difficult, but talking openly about mental health helps break the cycle and reminds people they’re not alone. Whether it’s checking in with a friend, organising a catch up, or simply taking time for your own wellbeing, every conversation matters.

If you work in racing and are struggling with any aspect of your mental health, Racing Welfare is here to help. We are encouraging you to take action and get emotional support 24/7 via Racing’s Support Line 24/7 on 0800 6300 443 or download the Racing Welfare app.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

Around one in five adults in the UK have a common mental health condition such as anxiety and depression. And this proportion is higher among young people aged 16-24.

With poor mental health affecting so many of us, even those who aren’t directly affected themselves are likely to know, love, work alongside or care for someone who does.

🔘 If you are concerned that you are developing a mental health problem you should seek the advice and support of your GP as a matter of priority.

🔘 Racing Welfare are available 24/7 and offer support for those working in or retired from the horseracing industry. You can either call 0800 6300 443 or download the Racing Welfare app at racingwelfare.co.uk.

🔘 You can find a comprehensive list of support organisations on the Mental Health Foundation website at mentalhealth.org.uk/get-help.

🔘 If you are thinking about ending your life, please call 999 (UK) or go to A&E and ask for the contact of the nearest crisis resolution team. These are teams of mental health care professionals who work with people in severe distress. by @racingwelfare

We couldn’t keep you waiting any longer… here’s a little more to wet your whistle! 💃🕺

Ben & Dolly are having great fun learning their routine for Racing Come Dancing… on the whole 😳🤭

But behind the dancing, sequins and questionable footwork is something far more important — raising money for an incredible cause.

@racingwelfare supports the humans of our industry, working tirelessly to help racing staff through life’s challenges, from the very start of their careers right through to retirement. It’s a charity that plays a hugely important role in looking after the people who make our sport what it is. 💙

So while we’re enjoying watching Ben attempt to find his rhythm (minus any cider), please remember this is all about raising as much money as we can for Racing Welfare.

If you can, please click the link in our bio and give whatever you can. Every donation, big or small, really does count. 🙏

Now… back to the dancing. 💃🕺👀 by @racingwelfare
