💬 "I love what I do. I love showcasing this industry and I love Middleham."

🏆 Hayley Clements AKA 'Mrs Middleham', who works at @micky.hammond.racing, was this year's hugely popular Community Award winner at the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards, sponsored by @godolphin.

🤔 Do you know someone like Hayley that deserves recognition for their commitment to British racing in 2027?

ℹ️ The Community Award is open to anyone who is connected to British horseracing, as an employee or in a voluntary capacity, including in supporting services or administrative roles.

This award is for someone who goes above and beyond in addition to their day-to-day role to make a positive difference to the lives of the industry people, racehorses or the communities in which racing and breeding operate, demonstrating social responsibility and championing the values of our sport.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE HORSES MATTER. 🩷

We notice when our horses aren’t quite themselves. Do we give ourselves that same attention?

This World Mental Health Day, Equitas is highlighting support for the people across our industry, including women balancing careers, businesses, motherhood and caring responsibilities alongside their horses.

You can be capable and still need support. You can love what you do and still find it difficult.

Swipe through for mental health, wellbeing and safeguarding resources from equuip, our partners Riders Minds and EQUISS, Racing Welfare, the International Grooms Association, Racing Mates and OnTrack.

We’ve also included Find A Helpline, a global directory to help you find emotional support suited to your country and needs: findahelpline.com

Each resource offers something different. Check the relevant website for availability, eligibility and the support provided.

Save this carousel. Share it with your yard, colleagues or someone you care about. Make time to ask how they’re doing, and to hear the answer.

You care for your horse. You deserve care too.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

Around one in five adults in the UK have a common mental health condition such as anxiety and depression. And this proportion is higher among young people aged 16-24.

With poor mental health affecting so many of us, even those who aren’t directly affected themselves are likely to know, love, work alongside or care for someone who does.

🔘 If you are concerned that you are developing a mental health problem you should seek the advice and support of your GP as a matter of priority.

🔘 Racing Welfare are available 24/7 and offer support for those working in or retired from the horseracing industry. You can either call 0800 6300 443 or download the Racing Welfare app at racingwelfare.co.uk.

🔘 You can find a comprehensive list of support organisations on the Mental Health Foundation website at mentalhealth.org.uk/get-help.

🔘 If you are thinking about ending your life, please call 999 (UK) or go to A&E and ask for the contact of the nearest crisis resolution team. These are teams of mental health care professionals who work with people in severe distress.

We couldn’t keep you waiting any longer… here’s a little more to wet your whistle! 💃🕺

Ben & Dolly are having great fun learning their routine for Racing Come Dancing… on the whole 😳🤭

But behind the dancing, sequins and questionable footwork is something far more important — raising money for an incredible cause.

@racingwelfare supports the humans of our industry, working tirelessly to help racing staff through life’s challenges, from the very start of their careers right through to retirement. It’s a charity that plays a hugely important role in looking after the people who make our sport what it is. 💙

So while we’re enjoying watching Ben attempt to find his rhythm (minus any cider), please remember this is all about raising as much money as we can for Racing Welfare.

If you can, please click the link in our bio and give whatever you can. Every donation, big or small, really does count. 🙏

Now… back to the dancing. 💃🕺👀
