I love what I do and no matter what I will always strive to impact someone’s life in a positive way. Attending the @atk9usa conference for my fourth year in a row and I am truly grateful for the opportunity. Even though my mentor and good friend @raderk9 couldn’t be with us we made it happen with PACKED classes every day and @lockedonk9llc and @mswartzie there crushing it everyday. This job comes with an inherent responsibility to better yourself everyday. While I hope I helped just 1 of my students to be better enough to survive and save someone’s life today I know for a fact they have each and individually taught me much more than they realize. Tomorrow is the last day of the best working dog conference in the world and I can’t wait till the sun goes up and I can train with some of the most professional people in the world. #kingdomk9 #bitemechanicsanddevelopment taken in Muscatatuck Urban Training Center by @raderk9

I didn’t want this hug, but I needed it, and Ben, aka @raderk9, recognized that.

These were taken a few years ago but man I still cherish the moment he took to come up and genuinely check on me during a moment where I wasn’t ok.

Surround yourselves with friends like Ben. People who truly care about you.

The Dog for sure still thinks about the 17 minute mouth-hug that @raderk9 took her on. By the end they were taking friendship photos. by @raderk9

This is a clip from the set up that I posted yesterday. Lots of moving parts on this, but it was super fun and serves several purposes. If you know you know.

Older video of Kash when we were really trying to make walking on the leash more consistent without hurting hunting drive. I almost didn't post it because its not "pretty" obedience.

Notice how we make the corrections but we don't really care about making it being perfect at once. It takes time. At the moment i just don't want to be drug around but i have to earn that behavior over time not just slam it in and one session.

The nose controls everything and it plays a HUGE role in the dogs behavior during specific situations. When talking about a breed like the GSP and seperating obedience sessions from field sessions it helps to just breathe and understand what you are holding and how it operates. YOU decide what is working for you and your dog and do not get stressed by one video that you see on line. Use the approach that helps out your specific dog the most and makes sense to you as a handler

Reminder- this is specifically relating to this specific dog that hunts and is going to be utilized as a companion dog in a heavy urban enviroment during the off season. Every situation requires a different response
