I wrote myself a postcard in procida and slipped it in the post, it arrived serendipitously on the same day as my film scans so I’m choosing to see that as a sign to share 💫

“Procida ♡ a wonderful place to venture solo and return to myself. It’s kind of silly how sometimes we need to escape the very comforts we curate at home to truly know one’s self. My life is designed so intentionally in its day to day, yet nothing compares to the novelty of travel. Seeing the world, meeting new people, being inspired by new sights sounds tastes and challenged with innately ordinary things like communication or transportation… it all makes me feel more human, individualistic, and most importantly, it gifts me the perspective that I’m a tiny part of a very large world. This fact feels grounding. I will always thank the crystal blue waters and pastel shores here for being my first international trip after cancer treatment.” by @raeconnell

the perfect day celebrating taylor and thea on the sunshine coast 🕊️ by @raeconnell

daydreaming about the streets of porto lately 🕊️🇵🇹 documenting love stories all over the world is a gift that will never be lost on me 🥹 thanks for welcoming me along to capture your adventures by @raeconnell

Imagine the sunset on your elopement day ✨ you’ve just exchanged vows and rings, commemorated the moment with a spontaneous first dance off an iPhone speaker, and taken some photos to document this glimmer in time. Just before the sun slipped beneath the horizon line, your photographer encourages you to stop and look back for just one more sip of the sunset. You all stand there for a moment in awe.

Mark + Shalynn’s elopement day was all of this, and somehow more. It was soft, sweet, relaxed. They floated from this amazing, awe-inspiring sunset to a private candlelit dinner overlooking the cliffs of Santorini, to read letters from their loved ones and melt into the evening together, just the two of them.

Greece is one of my favourite places on earth. Planning a destination wedding, elopement, proposal or honeymoon and looking for a photographer? Nothing would tickle my fancy more than to chat with you. 🤍🎞

It’s pretty special when sentimental locations for you, align with sentimental locations for me too. Harrison Hot Springs will always have a special place in my heart, and was a catalyst that helped me choose Chilliwack as home. I loved capturing Thea + Taylor’s engagement session here 🎞🕊

I have space for a few bookings close to home this June (families, couples, elopements). If you’re based in the Fraser Valley and dreaming of photos to document this time in your life, let’s connect!

When I photograph weddings, I try to see portrait time as an opportunity for your close friends or family to step away from the party and connect 🕊️🎞️ keeping everything relaxed, efficient and utilizing locations that mean something to you, keeps this time from feeling like “something you have to do” and pivots it toward something you want to do. It’s so natural to want heirloom posed portraits of your wedding day to capture your loved ones for generations to come. It’s common to have a list of combinations that you know you’d regret missing. But it’s also fair to hope you can just be present with the day and not get pulled away from the action, missing your cocktail hour to take pictures. I help my couples plan wisely so we can capture what we need without it draining you, and get you back to your party where the candid captures can start flowing. 🤍 by @raeconnell

Nothing lights me up more than a couple who leads with intention on their wedding day, aiming to experience it first and foremost. R&J wanted to take the Seabus from their Downtown ceremony to their North Vancouver reception. A familiar commute, and I loved that. They weren’t too fussed about where we should take photos, or how “aesthetically pleasing” the moment might play out, and to our surprise, their ease and openness led to the captain coming down to our crowded seats and inviting us up to the captain’s deck. The best moments tend to be the things we can’t plan for, and the best photos tend to come from those moments. 🕊️🎞️ by @raeconnell

A few favourites from Moira + Christian’s wedding day in beautiful Calabria, Italy last spring 🕊🎞️✨I have so much more to share from this stunning day! @villaventurait by @raeconnell
