Tokyo Marathon 2025 🇯🇵

From seeing acceptance email, to looking for my name on the Seiko building, to picking up my race bib and even standing at the start and finish line. It all feels surreal.

I feel blessed and humbled to have experienced this race!

This is a marathon I will NEVER forget.
My 1st world major marathon.
1 down, 6 to go! ⭐️

Chicago Marathon was supposed to be the race where I pushed my limits and chased a new PR. Instead, this marathon humbled me.

After months of training, carb loading, and hydrating, I truly thought I was ready to reach my goal.

The sun was beaming, my calves were screaming, and the charley horses started around mile 11. With every mile, the spasms became more intense. By mile 21, I could barely run without my calves locking up. So I ran when I could, walked when I had to, and kept putting one foot in front of the other.

One thing I’ve learned through this marathon journey: You can do everything right, put in the miles, follow the plan, fuel your body, and hydrate, but the marathon owes you NOTHING.

Don’t allow one “bad race” to make you forget how far you’ve come, how hard you’ve worked, or what your body is capable of.

26.2 miles is never easy, and sometimes the lessons we take away from a race are worth more than the time on the clock.

Chicago Marathon🩵❤️

This one was really special!

* I raised $2,200 for Ronald McDonald House
- thank you to everyone who donated and helped me reach my fundraising goal. I am so thankful!

* I received so many messages and rally voice messages from friends and family. Thank you for taking the time out of your day and doing that!
- @latham_mortgage_group and @mattgarkusha took it as their job to fill up every single rally slot that was left. Yall are the best and so hilarious. Thank you!

* I got to train and run this marathon with a great group of ladies. Waiting them chase this dream and crush it was so incredible!
- I am so proud of you! @mbrunstothecastle @jaimees_fit_fairytale @lindsrunsdis @jessrunsdisney

- I completed my third World Marathon Major only 6 weeks after my last marathon. Though my legs were cramping and my finish time was far off from my goal, I am proud of myself for pushing through.
- thank you @bruce__miller for supporting me this crazy journey and maintaining sure that I have what I need before, during, and after each marathon. I could not imagine anyone else doing this crazy thing with me.

What’s next?
I am not sure, but I know I need a little bit of rest first. 🤪

Today’s plans didn’t work out quite the way I thought they would and we ended up getting to the expo at 5:00.

With less than an hour to collect my things and explore a few booths, I still managed to run into a running friend! @stephsruns.

Now for some sleep, carbs, and hydration so that I can take on Chi-town!

The countdown to Chicago Marathon weekend is done!

Working all week and then packing made me feel like I was rushing around like a crazy person. But, laundry is done, house is clean, and I am packed and ready to take on the Chicago Marathon!
