💫Artist Spotlight💫 Virteluxe - Lynn Everette Read "My work is a conversation between material and idea, where glass serves as both medium and conceptual framework. Rooted in the lineage of functional objects yet untethered from utility, each piece navigates the tension between tradition and contemporary expression. I approach the material with rigor—planning, refining, repeating—until form, color, and process align into something distilled, atmospheric, and enduring. Influenced by Color Field painting, Bauhaus systems, and the bold silhouettes of the Memphis movement, I work through a language of abstraction. Form is purposeful. Color is choreographed. I draw from textile structures and musical rhythms, finding kinship in systems that build complexity through repetition. My murrine compositions echo patterns found in time, architecture, and nature. Glass is a demanding partner—volatile, precise, and wholly unforgiving. It requires presence and trust in process. I’ve come to see it not just as a craft, but as a philosophy of making good......" taken in Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art by @raffmacsusb

Student Takeover! @ahgc_csusb

Student takeovers are back! This time, we’re featuring students from CSUSB’s Art History 1221 class as they share their unique perspectives and invite us to experience the museum through their eyes and their interpretation.

💚 Green was the theme! 💚

"Green can represent life, growth, and change, but these artworks show that those ideas can look different for everyone. Growth and change looks different person to person, just like the uses of green look different from art to art. The same goes individually, we are constantly growing day to day.” - Melissa Castro explores Wash Basin, Catie Newell by David King taken in Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art by @raffmacsusb

Title: Boat Pot

Artist: Egyptian

Description: Predynastic pots like this of the decorated - ware type preserve some of the first pictures drawn from Ancient Egypt of life along the Nile. These frequently show long boats with rows of oars, cabins, and sacred emblems. The meaning of these images is not clear and perhaps had multiple associations. But interestingly archaeologists have found these kinds of pots predominantly in tombs and not houses. And so they may have ha d something to do with early ideas of the journey beyond death.

Medium: clay, ceramic

Join artist Alison Ragguette and a CAPS therapist on November 3rd, for an engaging conversation and hands-on exploration of art therapy. Together, they'll discuss art therapy as a career path, sharing how their disciplines intersect and enhance one another, before taking part in a collaborative art-making activity that brings those connections to life. The session will also look ahead at the future of art therapy and its growing role in mental health, showing how the language of art and the language of healing are more intertwined than ever.
