A room full of Black women building businesses and I get to be in it! ✨

Proud to represent Ragas Consulting in Cohort 10 of Goldman Sachs’ One Million Black Women: Black in Business program. Together, our cohort of 300+ Black women founders generates over $40 million in revenue, the highest combined revenue of any cohort!

Our kickoff in New Jersey and New York gave me new connections, fresh perspective, and even more motivation to grow. Travel, hotel, and meals were covered, and the experience? 10/10. 👏🏾

Almost three weeks in, I’m turning what I’m learning into action. It feels good to invest time in my own growth while continuing to pour into others.

We just came on here to say that it really does mean a lot when small businesses take the time to review our trainings and share honest feedback in real time.

Today, we kicked off our Certified Business Enterprise Sustainable Energy Trainings with DSLBD, and seeing the feedback coming through in the chat has us all warm and fuzzy.

We’re so grateful to be able to create spaces where business owners can learn, ask questions, and walk away with something they can actually use.

This summer I had the privilege of joining the @ragas_consulting team as a Program Facilitator for the @smallbizdc 7-week DCYEP program.

For 7 weeks, I worked with 11 college students and one high school student as they expanded their business ideas and built their foundation through business plans, guest speakers, vision boards, pitch decks, and more.

The best part was watching their growth. From being nervous to stand at a podium to confidently presenting their businesses at @dcgathers in a room full of supporters for their final pitch competition on August 4th. 🥹

So proud of everything they accomplished in just 7 weeks and grateful that I got to be a small part of their journey. Congrats to the winners and the entire 2026 cohort 🫶🏽

And that’s a wrap!

For the second year in a row, my company, Ragas Consulting, has been awarded the opportunity to manage DC’s Department of Small and Local Business Development’s (DSLBD) Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program focused on entrepreneurship.

Each year, we work with Washington, DC’s aspiring and newly minted entrepreneurs, ages 18–24, and this year was just as impactful.

Over the course of seven weeks, participants:
✨ Developed comprehensive business plans
✨ Gained real-world work and entrepreneurial experience
✨ Strengthened their business and professional skills
✨ Learned what it takes to build and operate a business
✨ Pitched their businesses for capital investment

And when I tell you, I see the potential and the plans these young entrepreneurs have for their lives. There is so much talent, creativity, and ambition in this group, and it is an honor to play a role in helping them turn their ideas into businesses.

This work is exactly why I built Ragas Consulting. We specialize in workforce development, entrepreneurship programming, capacity building, and strategic planning, and we are passionate about creating programs that produce tangible outcomes for the people and communities we serve.

Generational Wealth Weekend 2026 was more than an event, it was another step toward building a movement.

“Are you going to be a moment or a movement?” became one of the questions that defined our Business Accelerator on Juneteenth.

Entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers came together to learn, build relationships, and invest in their future. The conversations reminded us that nothing happens to us, it happens for us when we choose to grow, adapt, and keep building.

Year 4 was one for the books, but this is bigger than a weekend. It’s about creating lasting impact, strengthening our community, and creating opportunities that lead to generational wealth.

We’re excited to launch new year-round programming and initiatives that will continue serving entrepreneurs and our community long after the weekend ends.

One week ago, we gathered in the heart of Ward 8 for our 4th Annual Business Accelerator, and every year this experience reminds us why this work matters.

For five powerful hours, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and changemakers came together to have honest conversations about the state of small businesses across the DMV. We explored how to leverage artificial intelligence, navigate government contracts and grants, and build wealth through entrepreneurship through acquisition.

There were moments of learning, moments of laughter, and moments that moved us to tears. But above all, there was connection. We were reminded that while our journeys may look different, our challenges, aspirations, and determination are often the same. Community changes everything.

Our Juneteenth-inspired lunch, exciting giveaways, and an incredible DJ created the perfect atmosphere to celebrate excellence, entrepreneurship, and the future we are building together.

To everyone who invested their time, shared their stories, and showed up ready to grow, thank you. We look forward to continuing this work through our year-round programming and welcoming you back next year.

I am deeply grateful to the Young Women Christian Council (YWCC) for the opportunity to serve on the Standing On Business: Building the Business You Started Entrepreneurship Panel alongside an incredible group of women leaders and entrepreneurs.

Too often, we celebrate the launch but overlook the discipline required to sustain, scale, and steward a vision. Entrepreneurship is not simply about starting a business, it is about building systems, creating impact, solving problems, and remaining committed when the excitement fades.

To every young woman in the room: your vision is valid, your voice is necessary, and your ideas deserve execution. Confidence is not the absence of fear; it is the decision to move forward despite it.
