A 4-year old’s dream~

Waiting is boring, but today is special.
Maa promised a remote control car,
If she doesn’t spend it on dal.

She works hard, never complains,
Lights our home, fills our plates.
But I see her tired eyes.

One day, I’ll work so hard,
Maa won’t have to.
Maybe I’ll buy her a remote control life.

For now, we wait.
For the car.
For her stories.
For her warm hug and wet cold hands…

The festival of lights,
Lord Rama’s return.
“But my place is not the brightest,
nor does it brightly burn”.

Beside the fire that feeds them,
keeps them warm,
lights their home from dusk till dawn,
and inspires them
to wake up each day,
to earn their bread.

The brightest source of light;
a victory over darkness.
Obstacles remain,
and more are yet to come.
But the journey wouldn’t be beautiful
if there were none.

The weight of my life, the rope around my neck,
in the beautiful city of hard-earned dreams,
forgotten my own comfort and peace.

An ailing Amma, an infant to feed, a kid to educate, a wife to care for;
leaving home was tough, yet hope held me up,
a few years of struggle and I could reunite with my loved ones.

Now, with hair all grey and skin all wrinkled,
this never-ending cycle of,
waking up early and going off late, grinding the whole day,
an expert in mixing, serving, and counting coins,
so that back home, my family can live with dignity, in comfort and peace,
yet the rope around my neck taking away the little hope that stays.

In the humbleness of the sea, he stood; a dreamer, a lover,
Gazing at his inner self, awaiting his beloved before the sun sets.

His reflection; not of who he is, but who he is yet to become with her.

A quiet content fills his eyes, knowing that when she arrives,
He will never let her go.

My life was a crumpled sheet of paper, scribbled with random thoughts about life.
What to do next? Is it the right way to go? Will it lead to any good?

As ‘Sarpanchi 2024’ unfolded, so did something deep within me. Frustration and stress often clouded my vision, making me doubt whether I could make sense of those scattered feelings into something meaningful. But with each challenge, each sleepless night, those random thoughts started to take shape, forming the lines of a story I wish to tell, unveiling my love for ‘cinema’.

With each passing day, I am trying to make a little more sense of life.

shor se chhupte chhupate,
bheedh se nikalte,

zara sakoon sa milne lga hai.

smjta hun iss safar ko,

tehrna seekh raha hun.

bs ek pal ki khamoshi hi toh,
