The Us project pushes back against the social narrative around SA by making space for real people, real faces and real stories.

The project began with 50 stories in 2017. Now, a new evolution is beginning here in Naarm, Melbourne.

We’re looking for new people, new stories and new truths to become part of the next chapter of the Us project.

The underlying focus is still the same: that people feel able to be seen, to speak in their own words, and to know that the shame was never theirs to carry.

No shame. Say your name. Show your face. Speak your truth.

This is Us.

Truck Art - Melb Shores

“Hey folks, those abroad, this is a well known beach here, famous for its tiny colourful beach houses that looks like they have popped out of some children’s story book. Melbourne is surrounded by many beautiful beaches. Coming from a coastal hometown, I cherish the moments spent by the beach, though most of the months the water is cold here unlike Karachi. Thought to share… ”

Truck art is the form of art in Pakistan that originated as a way to decorate heavy vehicles with artwork that tells the story of the truck owner’s or drivers town and village wherever they travel.

This artwork is in Victorian Arts Society 9 x 5 Exhibition 2026. An homage to the original 1889 9x5 Impressionism Exhibitions, of small works painted on cigar box lids.

Truck Art - Melb Cityscape

"Hey folks, those abroad, this is the skyline that reminds me of Karachi city..
It's cooler here now; the trees here turn into hues of autumn. The sunsets are as lovely as back home; it's a delight to stroll in the city as the sun sets and these tall glassed skyscrapers start to shimmer. Thought to share.. "

Truck Art is a form of art in Pakistan that originated as a way to decorate heavy vehicles with artwork that tells the story of the truck owners' or drivers' town/village wherever they travel.

This artwork is displayed in VAS 9x5 exhibition till 2nd Aug.
