Great to spend some time with my friend Congresswoman @shontelbrown in Garfield Heights, Ohio — just outside of Cleveland.

We had an incredible conversation with high school and college students, educators and community leaders about the state of our country and what we want America’s future to be. by @rahmemanuel

Good to be on the trail with @davidjollyfl. Floridians need a governor focused on their insurance bills, their kids’ schools, and whether they can afford to stay in the communities they call home. David will bring common sense leadership to Florida: taking on corruption and putting Tallahassee back to work for the people paying the bills. by @rahmemanuel

Thanks to @rahmemanuel for stopping by @follownocc this week to hear directly from Louisiana educators and families. Our public schools have plenty of lessons to teach the nation. Let’s keep investing in our kids and our classrooms. 💙 #lademos taken in New Orleans, Louisiana by @rahmemanuel

We were honored to welcome Rahm Emanuel to Wilcox Academy for a powerful visit centered on early care and education, leadership, systems, investment, and opportunity. 🤩📚

The visit included engaging panel discussions moderated by Jen Roberts, featuring Anna Williamson, Representative Dana Henry, Taylor Dunn, Asya Howlette, former Governor John Bel Edwards, and our very own CEO, Rochelle Wilcox.

Together, they explored Louisiana’s progress and what it takes to build an early care and education system that truly works for children, families, educators, and providers.

We were especially proud to share the story of New Orleans’ historic local investment in early care and education and what sustained public investment can make possible when paired with strong systems, a supported early childhood workforce, provider voice, and a commitment to high-quality early learning across our community.

There is power in listening to the people doing the work, understanding the realities providers face, and seeing firsthand what happens when investment meets vision, leadership, and community.

Early care and education is not simply child care—it is education, workforce infrastructure, economic development, and an investment in Louisiana’s future.

Progress starts with presence, partnership, purpose—and investment. 👏🏾💛

📍Leblanc Elementary School, Abbeville, Louisiana

A child's future shouldn't depend on their zip code – and the leadership, teachers, and students at Leblanc have shown that a school in rural America can set high standards and achieve them.

Constructed as part of Vermilion Parish’s recovery from Hurricane Ike and Hurricane Rita, the achievement from the students at Leblanc Elementary have made the school a Top Gains Honoree in Louisiana with an A for Student Progress. by @rahmemanuel

Started the morning at Wilcox Early Learning Academy in the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans.

Wilcox’s Central City campus addresses two urgent needs for 150 students and their families: housing affordability and quality child care.

Their five part model uses 1) dedicated local investment; 2) state and local partnership; 3) coordinated access through the City Seats program; 4) whole-child support including developmental, vision, and hearing screening, infant and early childhood mental health support, language access; and teacher professional development, and 5) provider partnership.

Louisiana is proving what a kid's future can be with the right start. Every child across America deserves the same. by @rahmemanuel
