A taster of what’s to come.

‘RAINBOW ON THE ROAD’ opens its doors this Thursday 21st May and Byron Bay is the first stop.

The space has been curated by our co-founder @jadeegillett , bringing together original artworks by @gelbell alongside beautifully styled pieces by @harper.fredericks, @ashleycorbettsmith and @mashstudios__

Join us for the opening reception on Thursday 5–8pm, where we’ll be pouring margaritas by @cincatequila, natural wine by @natural_order_wine and refreshing seltzers by @cleancollectiveofficial

Gelbell’s works are available to purchase now and will be on view in the space until 31st May. After that, they’ll remain available on our website for future orders and private viewings can always be arranged.

The space is open to the public Tuesday – Saturday, 10am–2pm until the pop-up ends on Saturday 20th June.

Introducing @nnaderaa

Working from her studio on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, Nadera paints abstract landscapes in oil, built from a repeated woven mark that traces back to ikat, the silk cloth of her Uzbek heritage.

Alongside her practice, a career in climate advocacy shapes what her paintings hold: a place as she felt it, and the conditions it sits inside.

Three works in her latest collection were created during her recent artist residency at @hotelsunranch, Byron Bay, and she was also featured in our most recent show, ‘THE OBJECT SHOW’ at @theevehotel.

‘Liminal Sculptural Frame’ by @crossingthreads

Debuting at ‘The Object Show’ @theevehotel x @arts__matter, ‘Liminal’ explores the space between textile and object, turning a flat-woven surface into something sculptural and dimensional.

Handwoven using the Japanese SAORI free-weaving technique, reedless lengths of textile are folded, gathered and compressed within a stained walnut frame. Softness meets structure as the weave pushes forward, recedes and folds back on itself, held between boundary and vessel.

No longer simply woven cloth, ‘Liminal’ becomes volume, surface and object, occupying the threshold between weaving and sculpture.

Meet @cacarrracha, a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, writing and video based in Sydney. Guided by intuition, her practice explores evolution, ancestry, motherhood, identity and connection, an attempt to externalise the internal, giving form to feelings that are often hard to articulate. At its core, her work seeks belonging, comfort and camaraderie, offering a space to recognise your own journey within hers.

Her new interactive art book which was debuted at ‘The Object Show’ at @theevehotel x @arts__matter, ‘So Into Being Into It’, is a 24 page collaboration between artist and viewer. Stream of consciousness entries meet drawings and motivational sayings, each page holding a ‘thoughts for now’ prompt to reflect on what it stirs in you.
