Nothing quite like seeing a piece settle into its forever home! 😍😌💓

Our ‘VESTIGE CHAIR’ is now living by the ocean, and honestly, it feels like it was made for this space!

Seeing it surrounded by so much natural light, texture and those ocean views was a bit of a pinch-us moment. And as the first ‘VESTIGE CHAIR’ to find its forever home, this one feels particularly special.

A heartfelt thank you to our dear collector for generously welcoming us into your home, and for giving this piece such a beautiful place to land.

We love seeing how our collectors live with our work. This one just feels right! 💫🤎

Discovery sits at the heart of RAINBOW STUDIOS.

Jade Gillett shared five local talents inspiring her right now: Jono Friend, Woffel Glass, Crossing Threads, Marlo Lyda and Carla Uriarte.

From furniture and stained glass to textiles and art, each brought a distinct perspective to Interior at The Object Show, creating a meeting point between emerging Sydney talent and a collection of one-of-a-kind objects by Australian and international artists, designers and makers.

A little theatre for the everyday 💙🤩💫

Our Crossing Threads ART CUSHION is plump, playful and unapologetically oversized, with bold hits of colour and all that glorious texture. Handwoven and truly one-of-a-kind.

We wanted it to feel considered from every angle too, so turn it over and you’ll discover a completely different side. And the insert? 100% feather 🪶

For us, the CT ART CUSHION is about bringing a little theatre to the everyday. Something with enough presence to hold its own in a room, but still made to be touched, held, leaned into and lived with.

We like to call it ARTFUL LIVING 💁🏽‍♀️

First debuted at ‘THE OBJECT SHOW’ with @rainbow___studios at @theevehotel x @arts__matter , our first ART CUSHION has now found its home 💙

For those who missed out, we’re opening a limited number of commissions for one-of-one ART CUSHIONS. Each will be individually handwoven and intuitively composed, with no two ever the same.

DM us to enquire about commissioning your own 🤗

ONE OF US IS THE DREAMER. THE OTHER IS THE REALIST. 👯‍♀️💁🏽‍♀️

Can you guess who’s who? 👀

We recently sat down with @hunterandfolk for a conversation that had us looking back at the past 11 years of Crossing Threads, and thinking about what has shaped us both as artists and sisters along the way.

We talk about the four-hour weaving workshop that started it all, what we each bring to our creative partnership and how our Australian-Filipino heritage has influenced the way we make.

We also get into why weaving has become such a grounding practice for us, what life looks like outside the studio, and why we’re increasingly curious about taking our textiles beyond the wall.

It was one of those interviews that made us stop and reflect on how much has changed since we first caught “weaver fever”, and how many of the things that shaped us were there long before Crossing Threads even existed.

A little more about the sisters behind the threads, and where we’re heading next.☺️🤗✨

Thank you to Hande @hunterandfolk for sharing our story. - Lauren and Kass

Lauren and Kass Hernandez are the artists behind @crossingthreads – a Sydney textile studio where sisterhood, Australian–Filipino heritage and a shared language of texture are mindfully woven together.
