Have a spooky cute lunch learning to needle felt with me and @ani_cafe :3
🎃🍬👻🕸️

We will wind down and make cute halloween themed crops (or don’t let that stop you from felting whatever you desire) while enjoying lunch prepared by Ani Cafe. There will be slides for visual aid as well as demos and I will be able to assist, yap, and answer further questions relating to needle felting. It is meant to be fun and beginner friendly. You will be provided a kit and an assortment of colorful wool and learn how to use and utilize each material. At the end of the workshop you will not only bring a cute spooky creation of your design but also bring home your kit for you to continue needle felting at home. Note: you can choose to eat your meal during or after the workshop but be mindful that Ani Cafe will let in new customers to dine in the designated workshop space after the allotted time.

🗓️Workshop Date: October 10, 2026 (Saturday)| 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM
📍Venue: Comuna (3F Comuna, San Antonio Village, 238 Pablo Ocampo Sr. Ext, San Antonio, Makati City)
🎃Workshop Registration Fee: Php 1,400

Making the fishing rod took me back to when I made a fishing rod in my first year in art school—one of the biggest flex in my college life was being the only freshman in my 3D class to learn the lathe machine 💪 by @rainsunfish

🪡Learn how to craft your own needle felted critter with Marcela!🧊

As part of HALO-HALO: Art-making Festival, "MAKE YOUR OWN NEEDLE FELTED WOOL CRITTER" is led in partnership with @rainsunfish

About the Workshop:
The "Make Your Own Needle Felted Wool Critter" workshop will be a relaxing craft workshop where I will demo, assist and, yap, and answer further questions about the process of making felt sculptures and the process of buying and making each work. In this workshop, we will learn the basics supplies and techniques for needle felting by starting with critter doodles, making the base using polyfiber, and needle felting while learning all sorts of beginner techniques along with teaching how to blend different colors of wool!

About the Facilitator:
I am a needle felt artist. I’ve made illustrations, sculptures, and animations out of wool where I explore specific emotions or experiences such as parallels between childhood and adulthood and child-like wishes and imaginations through a curation of nonsensical elements merged. It all started with the smallest of animal trinkets that I made for fun to pieces that I believe falls in the realm of fine arts.

📅 Workshop Date: July 19, 2026 (Sunday)| 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
📍 Venue: @communalcoffeeph (2/F, Thaddeus Arcade, Pitpitan, San Roque, Marikina)
🧊 Workshop Registration Fee: Pay-What You Can!

🧊 Register here:🧊

Limited to slots only. Register now and discover the art of needle felting!

Like a lot of film ppl Im a big fan of Apichatpong Weerasethakul. He said something in the lines of “You don’t have to fully understand something to find it beautiful”. And even when I was studying animation in school I was always a pretty selfish storyteller but more because I rlly emphasized feeling over a clear narrative and evoking a feeling, in itself, to me, is a story. A lot of the times we need to just let ourselves feel instead of chasing meaning d: something I struggle to learn… Nonetheless I need to be a little less selfish when I tell my stories ALSO cause clear stories is where the money’s at 🫡
