🪡Learn how to craft your own needle felted critter with Marcela!🧊

As part of HALO-HALO: Art-making Festival, "MAKE YOUR OWN NEEDLE FELTED WOOL CRITTER" is led in partnership with @rainsunfish

About the Workshop:
The "Make Your Own Needle Felted Wool Critter" workshop will be a relaxing craft workshop where I will demo, assist and, yap, and answer further questions about the process of making felt sculptures and the process of buying and making each work. In this workshop, we will learn the basics supplies and techniques for needle felting by starting with critter doodles, making the base using polyfiber, and needle felting while learning all sorts of beginner techniques along with teaching how to blend different colors of wool!

About the Facilitator:
I am a needle felt artist. I’ve made illustrations, sculptures, and animations out of wool where I explore specific emotions or experiences such as parallels between childhood and adulthood and child-like wishes and imaginations through a curation of nonsensical elements merged. It all started with the smallest of animal trinkets that I made for fun to pieces that I believe falls in the realm of fine arts.

📅 Workshop Date: July 19, 2026 (Sunday)| 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
📍 Venue: @communalcoffeeph (2/F, Thaddeus Arcade, Pitpitan, San Roque, Marikina)
🧊 Workshop Registration Fee: Pay-What You Can!

At the 2024 @manilaillustrationfair 1/2: There was never any doubt as to the artists' talents, but I'm happily surprised to see that their aesthetics have bled from their art into their displays, and that they've leveled up their merch—which now includes not just the usual prints, stickers, and zines but also toys, home decor, and functional items. "There's no money in art" thankfully no longer holds true, and I hope the participants raked it in during the fair. Thanks to the fair organizers for giving me a reason to visit UPD!

“My biggest takeaway from @manilaillustrationfair 2024 is that what I do has the capacity to make others feel seen,” recounts Addi Panadero, one of the featured artists at MIF 2024. “My art aims to resonate with people, be it through their identities, memories, or fantasies. It is also my first time to participate in an event like this, and it made me realize that there’s potential for me to join more shows and fairs and put my work out there.”

Missed or missing last weekend’s affair? Here’s a selection of images and exclusive soundbites from Kanto’s coverage as media partner! The 2024 @manilaillustrationfair happened at the University of the Philippines Diliman’s Parola Atrium Gallery from September 13 to 15. Open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily, the second edition recorded a total of over 2,300 attendees, with dozens of prints, stickers, posters, risographs, and other art pieces sold by all 30 illustrators! A community stamp artwork by M O L D and live portraits by MIF’s partner artists also took place at the fair.
