I had to kill a version of myself that worked against me to find the version of me that got buried along the way.

Dedication to the grind and remaining a student of the game will never fail you. It’s the choices you make along the way that separates you from the rest. I am extremely honored to have a voice alongside these powerful women in music as we discuss equity for next generation creators on the @savethemusic @sxsw Music Industry Remix Panel March 14th! For years I’ve had conversations about the need for real industry professionals to step into educational facilities to teach the next generation of creatives not only the skills that got us here but the mistakes we learned along the way so they can have a quicker path towards success than us.

Through our partnerships with @thesolafoundation and @inspireedu.us I’ve been able to put all the talk into action by creating an organization to serve the needs of the youth. For Artists, By Artists!

@ActivatingInnerMuse offers industry standard CTE-Aligned curriculum, workforce development and live experiences reshaping Arts, Media and Entertainment Education throughout Los Angeles and Beyond!

How I start my mornings as an Audio Mixer Programming Professor at @glendalecollege!

I’ve created a hybrid learning environment in which students can practice on 3 consoles simultaneously connected to the Dante Network. This allows me to teach signal flow on a full sized analog console explaining the physical connections that we see in digital console interfaces while diving into the architecture of live sound workflows, replicating experiences I’ve had on tour, at events and on shows.

The Entertainment Technology program here at GCC is one of a kind, in which we give students access to industry standard equipment with curriculum designed by working industry professionals. Together we are @activatinginnermuse for the next generation of creatives!

The thing I love about this life is if you truly have the desire, you can create your own reality. Such is life with the career path I’ve embarked upon seeking opportunities and gaining experience in new environments. When you forever remain a student of the game any lane can be your domain, you just gotta study, perfect your craft and continuously go beyond. Thank you to my brothers @irvin.picott and @bertog_92 for putting me on the house sound team at @bonnaroo music and arts festival !

SOUNDVICE: Welcome to my new series teaching independent artists, musicians, engineers and business owners how to set up small format audio systems for your local events. One of the main problems people ask me about is how do you fix the mic? That’s a vague question because there’s a million problems that could potentially contribute to bad audio. Here’s a few tips.

1. Understand Signal Flow
2. Learn your mixer and channel strip
3. Identify the Input Gain
4. Double check meters
5. Pat yourself on the back for not blowing out the speakers and destroying your crowds ears 🙌🏿

For more tips and tricks on how to achieve better sound quality at your events follow us at @activatinginnermuse #audioproduction #livesound

Shout out to @wrdolandia for letting me know this what the people need! I got you 💪🏿 taken in Los Angeles, California by @rajwillbeyond
