Here's my first-ever te reo Māori rap about the English Language Act 2026 (yep, no longer just a bill 😔).

Since we are celebrating Mahuru Māori and Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori this month, I thought it'd be fun to play with the indigenous language of Aotearoa- and get a bit cheeky about the new law at the same time.

And fun fact: Japanese isn’t officially recognised as a national language of Japan- there’s no law for it!

Some people might find the content a bit provocative, but honestly… those who would probably wouldn’t check the meaning of the lyrics anyway! by @rakugonz

My Maramataka Matariki has arrived! 🌟

This beautiful maramataka is a fundraiser for the Te Ataarangi programme in Motueka. Because this year includes the 13th month (Ruhanui), this calendar actually gives you an extra month of use!

Support the Māori language by picking one up for yourself and your whānau!

Nearly three weeks have flown by since World of Cultures: Japan Day, but I still would like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us at Onehunga Library and Community Centre @onehungacommunitycentre and Highland Park Library!

Grateful to KiwiOra Community Trust for organising this event two years running, and to the libraries/community centre for hosting my rakugo shows.

Special thanks to Origami Workshop NZ for the lovely collaboration, too 😊

A super belated thank you from me to all of you! by @rakugonz

Two public performances are happening soon as part of the Japanese Culture Day celebrations at Onehunga Community Centre and Highland Park Library. There will also be a taiko drumming performance and an origami workshop, so come check out some Japanese culture!

As I am collaborating with the origami workshop, I will be performing the same stories at both events: 'Jugemu' and 'The Judgement of Tengu'.

I have found a new ally, and we might start the rakugo group again- if you are interested in getting involved, please come say hi to me at one of these events :)

Hope to see you there! by @rakugonz
