On September 16, Reynolds Advanced Materials - Orlando visited the University of Central Florida, where more than 37 students joined us for an afternoon of hands-on learning, live demos, and industry discussions.

From mold-making and casting to material safety and real-world applications, students brought insightful questions and enthusiasm throughout the session.

Reynolds Los Angeles Materials Specialist Kevin Gonzalez created this incredible pulsating heart prop using a combination of Smooth-On materials and practical effects techniques to bring the piece to life.

Key Materials Used:
• Sculptex Medium for sculpting
• Free Form Air for lightweight mold components
• EpoxAmite 101 and EpoxaCoat Grey for mold construction
• Ecoflex 00-30 silicone for the heart casting
• Psycho Paint Paint Base + FuseFX pigments for realistic color effects

Additional elements like an air bladder, tubing, and a bulb syringe created the pulsating effect, while yarn was used to simulate veins. by @ramaterials

Materials Specialist Joy brought history to life at Reynolds Orlando by transforming a digital file of a museum artifact into a finished cast replica.

Using a combination of 3D printing, traditional mold making, and casting techniques, she recreated a piece of history that's now on display in our showroom.

Our Reynolds Advanced Materials Atlanta team member, Ian Ferry, created this incredible brain surgery simulator using 3D printing, custom molds, and Smooth-On materials to recreate realistic tissue, bone, and anatomical structures for hands-on training.

What would you wish for?

Reynolds - Atlanta's Material Specialist Ian Ferry recreated the iconic One Wish Willo from the movie Obsession! Ian sculpted the original by hand on a brass tube, then molded it with Rebound 25, built a support shell with Free Form Air, and cast the final piece in Smooth-Cast 65D.
