When I fist walked into this store, I thought I was in the wrong place… I was invisioning a “Ace Hardware” type place but Reynolds Advanced Materials in Atlanta is anything but your typical supply store!

With Atlanta’s booming film industry, Reynolds supplies materials used by special effects artists to create everything from movie masks and prosthetics to creatures and incredible movie props.

Walking through the doors feels like stepping onto the set of a Halloween movie! There are creepy creatures, masks, and all kinds of fascinating creations everywhere you look.

And right alongside all that Hollywood magic is where I get the plaster to make my stones!

Who knew a simple trip for plaster could be so much fun?

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good 🤫
Been busy making custom Master Patterns, Negative, Positive, and Matrix Moulds for sculpting bases for my personal use as well as for @batcatfx. I may not have Marauder’s Map, but do believe I will manage some Mischief 🪄
•
@smoothon for the Moulds, Shells, and Positives
@monstermakersus @monsterclayusa was also used in the process

I finally settled on my preferred method for my new, white mesh/no makeup hack for my cowls that have the larger eye holes when I don't feel like putting on makeup...

@smoothon has so many products for every project. Here is the new Winslow with Ecoflex 20. Our favorite silicone for anamatronics. @ramaterials here in Denver has a great walk-in shop to see samples of all products!

Oh that was satisfying! I ran into a lot of problems but the cast turned out 100x better than I expected.
