Hello there! I’m Morgan. I appreciate you following along and wanted to introduce myself as I share website content and information about my offerings through my small business, Rambling and Rooted. Here we go, friends! ✨

Originally from Pennsylvania, I was born with a spirit for adventure, gifted to me from my mother’s mother & a respect for staying in one place, gifted to me from my father’s mother. My mother allowed me to venture outside & explore, instilling independence & courage in me from the beginning. My father taught me the importance of the traditional heritage of hunting & fishing, as his father had taught him.

I was raised to be curious & with a deep respect for other humans, wildlife & the land. I’m empathetic to a fault, have the bold mouth of a sailor & love painting my eyelashes on rare occasions. I’ve never worn enough sunscreen, love sending & receiving mail (handwritten please) & one day, I hope to have a crowded table. I’m a beginner & enthusiast of many things: crochet, learning a second language, film photography, scuba diving & growing flowers. It’s a rare day I’m without a notebook & a pen.

So, what’s in a name? Well, I remember thinking really hard about who I am and how I want my small business name to reflect my personality, values and what I do. I started with brainstorming words that spoke to these aspects of my life and when I landed on rambling, the word rooted followed from there.

I’ve been a rambler for as long as I can remember— moving throughout my 20’s, and then in my 30’s, arrived at wanting roots. The change felt welcome and foreign, necessary and grounding. I realized I can be both— wild and tame, found and still seeking, rambling and rooted.

For a long time and even still, I write to express feelings and emotions because it’s the best outlet I know. I’ve sought belonging and connection through movement and know now that I can move and stay. My flight response is a strong one and I thought it was a detriment to my life when in reality, it’s a power that can benefit me if harnessed.

So, what’s in a name? Well, it’s me, reigning in and letting the rest go. It’s a small business with big heart and big dreams. It’s choosing my gifts and sharing them with all of you. I’d be humbled if you check out my offerings, help spread the word and consider me for your writing needs.

Choteau Fall Fest ✨Seeing our kiddo ride solo on the kids train felt pretty epic. Because really, after everything, it was. It was a miracle.

Moments with him are precious. I’m soaking them in because it’s very possible I’m living out the good ol’ days, and I’ll only have the honor of doing this motherhood adventure once. I really wanted a crowded table and it’s not in my deck of cards.

A vulnerable tid bit is this, the business purchase I just made of Montana Woman @montanawomanmagazine is not just business, it’s personal. When I realized I wasn’t going to have a daughter, I felt this strong hit that not only did I want to take on this idea I’d had for myself and other women but I want to help tell the stories that I’d want her to hear and grow up knowing. That feels like big work. Important work. Meaningful work. So, I’ve been busting my butt to fundraise and make it happen— for her and for all of us.

Just me and our lil’ dude walking into October and this Fall season wide eyed, ears turned on and ready for whatever is coming. He’s recovering from a fever, home with me today and I’m doing what I can to keep up with client work and Montana Woman @montanawomanmagazine — for those who aren’t aware, I’m buying a business. It’s a big lift and one that feels aligned.

I’m a storyteller, a trained conflict resolution professional and a Montana Woman. I wasn’t born here but I’ve found belonging here. I’m taking Montana Woman Magazine and turning it into a podcast because I believe we need women’s voices now more than ever. We need stories and we need to listen more than we speak.

This dream kept nagging me for two years and it’s finally becoming a reality. I’m humbly asking for your support to bring Montana Woman into its next life. I’m collaborating with women makers in Montana to offer incentives when you give as well as offer an raffle entry to win some beautiful goods made by Montana women.
