A double wedding weekend! 💍🍂

Congrats to Caitlin and Ryan, and Tirzah and Jake! The foliage this weekend was a feast for the eyes, and the people weren’t too bad either!

Shanghai, 2026! 🇨🇳 - PT. 2

Sights and eats! There was so much to see and so little time. A couple of highlights were the 460-year-old Yu Garden in Old Town Shanghai, the skyline along the East Bund, and an afternoon walking around the French Concession, trying tea and shopping.

Shanghai, 2026! 🇨🇳

I had the opportunity to present at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music’s International Musical Theater Week, representing the theater division at Boston Conservatory at Berklee. I presented on how the integration of student development and career development theory can support the four-year musical theater curricular progression.

It was an exciting week of sights, truly amazing food, wonderful people, shows, laughs, and gracious hospitality from the administration and students of Shanghai Conservatory. We had an incredible time, to say the least—a week for the books!

10 years of cuddles, travels, silly songs, staring at each other use the restroom, and wondering what’s in the other’s mouth. Happy birthday to my sweet guy—the best buddy there ever was! I’d say we both have gotten finer with age. Love you!

Week one of my fifth year teaching @bostonconservatory! Between my three years with Motown the Musical and four years with Beetlejuice, this institution has been my longest employer.

This year also marks TWENTY years since my first day of college as a student at this very institution. I never imagined twenty years ago just how much this school would become a part of my artistic and professional journey. I’ve only ever experienced this school in a four-year cycle, so being here for a fifth consecutive year feels, well…mierce. (IYKYK.)

Looking forward to another great year! Cheers, and happy fall semester, everyone!

I don’t know what encouraged me to apply for a master’s program while teaching full-time, but these past two years have been some of the fullest of my life—professionally, creatively, personally, and spiritually.

This journey reminded me of something I often tell my own students: higher education expands your capacity. Looking back, I can clearly see that truth reflected in my own life—and not simply in the ability to squeeze more activity onto my calendar, but the capacity of self.

The capacity to continue learning when it is uncomfortable. The capacity to admit when you are wrong. To listen deeply. To share boldly. To embrace your multitudes. To ask for help. To learn from those with whom you disagree. To do it scared—to express the unfinished thought. To push yourself beyond what you thought was possible.

I never imagined this for myself, and I am deeply grateful.

I am proud of myself—and I am honored to have earned my Ed.M. in Education Leadership as a member of the Harvard Graduate School of Education Class of 2026.

Thank you to my cohort, professors, mentors, family, friends, and colleagues who encouraged me along the way. Learning alongside such brilliant and generous people has been a gift. And I am grateful to God, because man—I do nothing by my own strength.

Now, time to rest! Cheers! 🎓

An “everything all at once” kind of semester.

Teaching full time, finishing graduate school, choreographing a show, learning, leading, and somehow finding the grace to make it through all of it. My heart is very full.

Said goodbye to my first four-year cycle of students this week, completed the A.R.T. Arts and Cultural Organization Management fellowship, and now looking forward to walking the stage for my master’s degree in two weeks. WOOF!

Grateful for family, friends, my wonderful colleagues and students, @bocoforchrist , and God’s sustaining love.

Spring 2026 — that’s a wrap!

So glad to have been a part of this wonderful production! @thedelondotcom fostered a process that truly elevated the work environment. It was as challenging as it was fun, with clear expectations around professionalism—what it means to show up prepared and ready to work—not only for this production, but in ways that translate directly to the classroom and the industry.

The students delivered. I am incredibly proud of their work, their commitment to their craft, and the growth I witnessed over our weeks together. What stands out most is watching them each take ownership of new skills and lean into the discovery of their greater artistic potential. A rehearsal process means little without lessons to carry forward, and I had the privilege of seeing sharper, more engaged, and more resilient performers emerge in real time. Also—just wonderful human beings all around.

Thank you to DeLon, Bethany, and Cam for such an ease of collaboration. This process felt seamless because we shared a unified vision and a strong, cohesive standard. And to my assistant @heavenwilliamss—who saved the day many times by finishing my thoughts and choreographic phrases—thank you. I’m grateful for your grounded energy and leadership.

Also—to @aravanand, @coopersheehy, @livvy.reitzz, and @ethanwest721—we couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you!

I am currently choreographing Urinetown for the spring musical at Boston Conservatory at Berklee. In the age of media and technology I’m frequently reminded of my own experiences in college that typically align with the current academic and performance schedule.

17 years ago—same time, same place I was in 42nd Street, which, to this day, is one of my favorite educational theater experiences. This show was a fast-paced, sharp, ensemble-based process that elevated my work as a student and pre professional. I have such fond memories of this time—and we were killing it!
